People IN the administration, who were in on the meetings about wiretapping, torture and suspension of habeas corpus became fearful at what they were seeing:

". . . two of the top lawyers from the Justice Department developed this system of talking in codes to each other because they thought they might be being wiretapped…by their own government. They felt like they might be kind of weirdly in physical danger. They were actually scared to stand up to Vice President Cheney."

One other conservative attorney thought the lunatics had taken over the country.

No word on whether any of them were thinking of Canada if things got too bad.

other presidents had lists as well - folks who all of a sudden were audited by the IRS or wiretapped - or their garbage was "examined"....

clearly those in the white house travel dept. feared who "the vp?"  nope - the First lady...

I'm old enough to know that all kinds of accusations are made by one party against the other...  but I'm also smart enough to know that those that do a poor job or handle situations well, or get caught cheating usually blame their demise on others...   so yea, this stuff is the stuff of life.
