A caricature is any exaggeration by means of often ludicrous distortion of parts or characteristics, and the New Yorker has reached a new low doing just that.  You cannot take those kind of liberties with the physical features of a minority without it being clearly racist.  I suggest all cartoons of Bar(eb)ack's person from now on cease and the artists should only represent him as a beam of light coming down from the sky.  You can poke all the fun you want at the heaven's guiding light, but lets leave race, or percentage of race as it were, out of your publications in full view of impressionable upper class white people.

The New Yorker should stick to their long history of head scratching cartoon humor and leave the knee slappers alone.

but you are correct - all this from a conservative - who supports

1)   licensure of gun owners (take a course and register the gun)
2)   Stem cell research
3)   the right of a woman to choose
4)   a form of medical/health care insurance reform
5)   free education through a BS/BA degree for all who are qualified
6)   Curtailed activities within Iraq
7)   a national energy policy
8)   education reform
9)   term limits for both the MOC and Senate.
10)  Off and on shore oil drilling

Conservative position:
1)  lower taxes
2)  limits on govenmental spending
3)  Limited involment in foreign affairs.
4)  Welfare reform
5)  enforcement of illegal immigration laws.
6)  tougher penalties for repeat offenders
7)  strong military

but hey.... I know.... same ole, same ole...

a perfect example of the double standard at work.  Ask yourself, why no New Yorker cartoons depiciting Senator Lieberman and his wife Hadassah dressed up as some grasping, self-righteous, semi-automatic rifle-toting illegal West Bank settlers.  On second thought, don't.
