I’m sure that there are others who are more experienced than me in this hobby. I’ve been in it since 2000. I‘ve been around enough to know that the clients keep this business going. It is us who spend our cash, run the risk of legal problems, etc. so that these providers can earn a living. Granted, it is a risk for them too, but we deserve a certain degree of respect. It doesn’t matter whether you’re black, white, Hispanic, or whatever. If you have the cash and are willing to spend it, you at least deserve to know whether a scheduled appointment is real or not. That is simply not professional in any business. Like I said before, if you don’t want to see me, then just say so. I’ll move on to someone else. Just don’t play games with me and waste my time and gas.
I’m being professional by not revealing who these providers are, and I think that I and every other hobbiest deserve the same professional courtesy. I’m interested in hearing from some providers out there. Why do you think this happens??
I am a young, well-educated (master's degree), professional, Black male living in NC. I moved here on a corporate relocation from Pittsburgh over a year ago. Since I've been here, I've seen several agency girls but wanted to experience some of the popular independents around here.
I have made appointments with 2 prominent indy's in the area and gave them references and anything else they asked for. Each one agreed to see me and told me to call 1 hour prior to the appointment. Each time, I have called from my unblocked cell phone while on my way to the appointment. Each time, they don't answer or return messages. In fact, on one call, the provider picked up the phone and hung up. When I called back, she never answered. I have wasted my gas and time by driving to appointments that they didn't intend on keeping. I NEVER had that problem in Pittsburgh, Philly, or DC. The providers there were very professional, and if they didn't want to see a certain type of client, you knew well in advance, although that was very rare.
I would appreciate a little courtesy from providers here. If you don't want to see me, just say so. I'm not going to cry about it. I would much rather spend my time and money with someone who is going to be honest. That is so unprofessional to waste a client's time and gas and then not even have the professional courtesy to return phone calls or respond to email. What's up with that??? Are there ANY professional independents around here???
I think the provider has the right to see whomever she wants to see. Just be honest and not play games.
I'm not black, but you make some good points. I've seen one indy's site where she says straight-out she prefers caucasian men. As you indicate, that is more professional. Though I've never had providers hang up on me, many don't return all calls. Yet I've had good providers not return calls on one occasion, then return them on another, then not return them again. Since I'm in a biz where I understand the meaning of getting swamped by a crazy, unmanagable schedule, I just figure tomorrow's another day. Not preaching, just telling my experience around here.
Have you considered that maybe one of your references is "bad-mouthing" you??? Do a little undercover work, get a girlfriend to call your references and have her give the impression that she is a provider asking for a reference for you.
No, I don't think they are bad mouthing me. The ladies that I use as references considered me to be a favorite client and have seen me on multiple occasions. If I wasn't a good client, why would they continue to see me?
Also, the two indy's here originally agreed to see me then backed out once I called to confirm. If they don't want to see me, just say so upfront. I don't appreciate games.
This is another thing I found out for myself when I moved South from Philly. People in general here are way less confrontational, and tend to cloak things in pleasantries. That's the downside for some - and everywhere's got a downside. Along with that comes a confusion in the change in pace of life. But you hang in there, and if you're at all like me, you find the upside WAY trumps it all.

Since I usually only hobby very, very far from home, there are really no SC providers I have seen. But I have made attempts to see several in the past with most of my efforts falling in the unsuccessful category. My personal preference is young, attractive and petite. As long as they provide FS and DFK, I have no other real requirements other than a real GFE experience.
I also am usually a one pop guy and book for multiple hours. I am white, attractive and not overweight. I maintain excellent hygene and always treat a lady with respect and courtesy. And yet, I have shared similar experiences.
It is true that there are still prejudices out there. And it is possible that you are used to providers where there are just more fish in the sea... so to speak. Philly, DC is a provider heaven with an outstanding back channel support. If you are telling the ladies up front that you are black, that is really all you can do. Share the info with your brothers on your bad experiences and simply move on.
I'm not critisizing you... just letting you know what I think is truly best for you. Be safe and good luck.
From browsing the web sites, any of the ladies who cater to caucasian only, or over 30 only, or other specific clientele, say so right up front. It doesn't do their professional reputation any good to make people waste time and gasoline.

I am so sorry that you are having such a difficult time finding some really good independent providers. I am a black independent 100% GFE. I don't discriminate when it comes to clients. They just have to be respectful gentlemen.
