As a lifelong Cubs fan,I hate to jump to conclusions,because I am only TOO painfully aware of our "loveable loser" tradition(which IS merited)BUT, I will say this: the 2003 Cubs team is probably the strongest we've ever had.We not onle have a great starting rotation and closer,but a lot of guys who can hit over .220 !The middle relievers are the weak point: we probably could have had 10 more wins if not for them.Still,this team has a kick-ass spirit that has been lacking for many years.As I write this,I'm anxiously waiting to watch game 2 in Atlanta!......AN EXCITED MEMBER OF THE CUBS "CULT"....
