If the dems thought they would gain anything by it, they'd do it in a heartbeat. You surely aren't claiming that the dems have the "moral" high ground on this subject. Let's face it, either side will whatever it takes to win, there is nothing to low for them to try. The only thing that restrains them is the potential backlash of a failed tactic.
