... I agree completely. That sounds like a great time. I once took two dommes to dinner while I had a vibrating egg in my ass. Short version...  She was bi, we had a polyamoric relationship with our girlfriend, who was just as much fun.  I was in a program to become a Navy officer, in which I had already invested years, and was told to choose between my career or the girls.  Although I eventually retired a Naval officer, they may be my biggest regret.  Still the loves of my life...

Seriously, I've been sorta where you were once or twice myself.  The poly relationship thing sounds great in theory, but in practice they're exceedingly fragile constructs.  Sorry it didn't work out for you.
