The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.
Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were
"hate speech."
Enter Professor Wichman. In his e-mail, he said the following:
Dear Moslem Association,
As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests(the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called "whores" in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France. This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests."
If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave. I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well.
They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen. Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion.(unlike the broad latitude given to the Islamists to spew their hate-filled raves)
For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman, saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks.

i cannot credit that the good prof imagined for one billionth of a nanosecond that his email was going to remain private. In fact, i'm betting he fully expected it to be made public.
let's face it -- whatever you think of the prof's response, whatever you think of the Moslem students [hope they ain't studying avaition], whatever you think of CAIR, whatever you think of Islam, Wichman's email was no doubt intended to inflame, to be made public, and to provke an intemperate response on the part of the madcap Mohammedans at MSU [can we change the name of their sports teams from the Spartans to the Mameluks?]. Wichman is a self-created martyr, he's gotten exactly the response he intended to get, and the protean Islamofascists played right into his hands.

I find it an interesting and telling contrast that no one on this board has criticized the pro-Zionist, anti-Arab witchhunt conducted at Columbia University for the last 3 years, by groups like Campus Watch and The David Project. But then again, criticizing Israel, and any of the words and deeds of it's deluded and crazed minions, will get you much less sympathetic media time than deliberately turning yourself into a PC "victim" of Islam and that creed's crazed followers.
Take a look at the New Yorker dated April 14, 2008, essay by Jane Kramer. It's an eye-opener, for those whose brains have not already been totally washed. This PC/McCartyhite sword cuts both ways, but for some reason it claims victims from only one camp.
My best to Wichman for expressing a view which he knew would be met with hostile reaction. No kudos to Wichnman for the "who, me?" posturing. I've got no problem with people slinging all kinds of preposterous shit. I do take exception to when they claimed to be surprised that their words have given ofense.

Actually, I liked the Danish cartoon. I thought it was pretty cool. And any country full of hot (often blonde and usually psychotic) women who celebrate the 4th of July like it was their own, I don't care how fuckin socialistic they are, get me a baseball league going there, and I could be happy.
All things considered, the Danes seem to have largely gotten out of the habit of mistreating people. Maybe that says something for socialism, eh?
