My thought was wouldn't it be great if TER members could meet each other. The "true" TER members. The people who rely on this forum for the pleasure and their incomes. Not those people who just drop in when they need to make some money or have some crazy fetish to fulfill. I know I sound snobbish but the people who truly value this forum should somehow have a chance to meet each other. Put a name to the handle.
Wouldn't it be great if all of us freaks could meet once a year at a pre-determined location to chat, socialize, eat, drink, party and do that other thing that all of us love to do!!
Maybe I am crazy but I think that would be a fucking great idea.
My suggestion for the first National Meet and Greet. But of course NYC.
Discuss amongst yourselves.

And I'll be blunt- even when Vegas hotel rates are completely stupid, they're STILL cheaper than NYC. It's also relatively easy to find a location to throw at during AVN week (and really, the town is crawling with porn stars and escorts- who's going to notice a few more?).
of "true" TER types. No disrespect to the porn stars. But the ladies who are in this hobby and not doing porn just make for better M&G types. Porn types just bring a different flavor. I mean its a good flavor but different. Porn is just its own separate world.
Also Vegas attracts attention for those of us that are low key. NYC is the biz capital of the world and would make a good excuse to travel to for a "convention".
I'd say probably 80-90% of our lady guest list the 3 years we've thrown M&Gs for AVN (2007-2009) hasn't been in porn. Generally, the porn types really ARE in their own little world.
Also, Vegas during AVN/CES (note the CES part- AVN is a drop in the bucket compared to them) gets a LOT of touring escorts. We've had women attend our parties from Florida, Boston, New York, SF, LA, DC, Detroit, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, Dallas- probably more, those are the ones I can just think of off of the top of my head.
Finally- along with CES, SEMA, Magic, and a lot of other "business" conventions do get held in Vegas. It goes along with the inexpensive hotel rooms and convention space.
Now, that's not to say that a "national" M&G wouldn't work in NYC, or LA, or Chicago, or Vegas, or any other number of places. I'm just pointing out that as far as I can tell, you might not have to reinvent the wheel here- and NYC does have a problem of being a pretty expensive place to throw a party. But if you can do it, knock yourself out. I surely won't stop you.
We've had people from all over the country. From NYC, Florida, Dallas, LA, Seattle, Chicago, Ohio, North Carolina and everywhere else in between. So what would a national M&G look like?

About half the ladies that attend are from out of town, and many plan tours to coincide. Most are well known on TER, and come into town from just about everywhere...Boston, Philly, DC, Atlanta, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Chicago, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Vegas, LA, SF, SD, Seattle, Montreal, Toronto, London, etc. Never seen a porn star at one, though there are usually a few in town at any given time...
As for hobbyists from out of town, always a few make the trip. See posts on this board if you ever wish to attend...I'm sure you can secure an invite if you ask, and pass screening...
I would love to do a Meet and Greet in New Jersey.

besides all the states and cities tasha and B3 mentioned, we've had providers from England, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, France, El Salvador, Honduras, South Africa, Egypt, Israel, Iran, France Italy and Romania.
Those are just the ones I remember off the tip of my head (yes, i said tip)
How much more Internationally flavored would you like to get? I can use my long range sensors to get a couple Orion slave girls working on Uranus if you like (hehe) 
Forgive me, but being a former resident of NY, and knowing a little about what it's like to stay there, spend there, eat there, drink there, et al. Here in Las Vegas, you have more hotel rooms than any other place in the world. And rooms are unbelievably in-expensive right now. As for the attendees, I can assure you that it would probably be a lot more "friendly" for everyone involved. This town is built on discretion. The phrase "What happens here, stays here", is very true. The weather is a hell of a lot better here than in NY. No knock on my former city, but there is no comparison between the two. Vegas beats NY, hands down, in every category. Just my two cents, but a learned two cents at that.

Please keep in mind for those of us in the rest of the country. That when you say you are going to Vegas the eyebrows immediately go up. It then makes it very hard if not impossible to schedule a trip to Vegas. Just speaking as a married guy there is no way I would be able to make that trip (at least alone). And I know just about every other married or involved hobbyists is in that same "boat". Vegas is no doubt a great city but the name factor just makes it out of the question for a lot of guys. No offense to the lovely city of Vegas (wink)
NYC was just a city off the top of my head. Why? It is relatively easy to travel to by plane for most people. Are the prices high? Yes they are but no one said this would be cheap. Hobbying is not for people in financial straits. Other cities could work well also: Chicago, Atlanta, DC, etc.
As far as the people invited I was thinking the true Provider and Hobbyist. Not people who just think "Oh my I would love to see that crowd" or the Porn star who sees this as a nice chance to make some $$$. Please keep in mind I am not against any of that but I thought it would be great if those of us who are into this life fulltime would get a chance to meet and maybe even party. Putting a face with the handle so to speak.
Obviously I don't have all the details that's why I put it out on the board to get feedback.

Speaking as a married guy, unless traveling is part of your job, no matter where the M and G is held, its going to be difficult for a married person to attend. I know if I told my wife I am going to New York for a couple of days, she'd want to know why. Or any other location for that matter. In fact, LV may be easier if for not other reason there are always conventions in town.
I host a lot of the M and G's in the LA area. It's hard enough for me and for the other married guys to get out for a local M and G. And for that matter even a day on the weekend.
I'd love to attend a LV M and G. I probably know at least half the guys and half the ladies that attend. But they are usually held on the weekend and thats a tough sell for me to my wife (she likes LV too, LOL).
Anyway, right now, I would agree with the others. I think the closest thing to a National M and G are the ones held in LV. I think you'll also get the most attendance if one is held there. Heck, maybe I'll figure out a way to attend. LOL.

I'm sort of confused- are you suggesting that the mixers/socials/meet and greets that happen now DON'T have these? I'm pretty sure everyone who's thrown one would probably disagree with that.
I also agree with Crazy Diamond above- the NYC parties do draw nationally, as much as the Vegas ones do. So I'm not really sure you need to specifically call out a M&G as a "national" one. Just go.
Now you know that's really tough to accomplish but it can be done by a real time avi tv (I think thats what its called) where they can see us and we can see them as the m&g goes on.
