I'm sure the rug merchants appreciated that.  He could have at least BOUGHT something while he was pushing aside the paying customers.  Sheesh.

But you gotta be deranged - we may have helicopters, but body armor, snipers & a platoon of escorts are really not that common in CA malls.

The Times is not saying he had an affair.  The article said some of his aides warned him to cut if off with her because it looked bad.  If he lies about that then he is too stupid to be POTUS.

but I actually agree with you. I am a fiscal conservative, but I can't stand "real" Republicans as you put it.

The good news is, if McCain can get the nomination (pretty much a foregone conclusion) without pandering to the far right, his chances in the GE are excellent.

McCain got spanked real bad by the Bushites, and he repented, and's already established he's the right's whore.  The only question is his price.   Looking back over the last couple years, I'd guess it's not real high.

2 The draft. fucking A yeah, When most of us grew up, military service was a given. We weren't heros, we weren't villians, we just did what we had to, it was just one of those facts of life.

Aside from that McCain still beats the shit out of the other two choices.

1)  there's no such thing as a non-profit, only lower or disguised profit margins.  

And everybody gets around to faith - that is, what they believe as certain - sooner or later.   It's only a matter of how willing you are to listen to the other fellow, and religion is all about knowing the truth before you look at the facts or listen to the other fellow.

Some people are Pentecostal, some are Catholic.  Some are scientists, some are scientologists.  I happen to believe in the Federal rules, and that they are appealable, not engraved in stone.

And the reason I believe is simple - hottest babes.   Not one of them drools or accidentally smears her makeup.

2)  The draft is less about military service, and more about the (socialistic) ideas of putting your money where your mouth is, and carrying your  load for the sake of the people around you.   Many, even most people served in several generations.   It's a fucking mess best put behind us ASAP, except as a reminder not to go picking fights too easily.   The really hard work is getting along with the in-laws without letting the idiots fuck everything up, and that's where we should be putting our effort.

No it isn't eight years; the episode with the lobbyist is eight years old but that was only one piece of the story.  The main story line was McCain's long history of bad judgment and hypocrisy.
And as I posted in another thread, this is a guy who admitted cheating on his first wife so why is it so hard to accept that he might have cheated on wife #2 as well?

The scenarios are interestingly similar:

Late 1970s: McCain starts cheating on his wife with a blonde 17 years younger than himself with a Bachelors degree in Education

Late 1990s: McCain allegedly starts cheating on his second wife with a blonde 31 years younger than himself with a Bachelors degree in Education.

No you  missed the entire point. I'll ask the question again: did you bother to read the NY Times story?  The Times did not make any allegations about an affair between McCain and his blonde lobbyist. The story was about about McCain's chronic lying and hypocrisy and disconnect between his public statement and his actions in Congress. He's been doing it again during this election.  He's been hailed as the champion of campaign finance reforms
but during the primary season McCain has taken more money from lobbyists than any other candidate.

And by the way, at least one former McCain aide has confirmed the NY Times story saying he did meet the lobbyist and warned her to stay away from McCain.

McCain has done worse things...he cost the taxpayers more than $3 billion by protecting Lincoln Savings & Loan from regulators who were trying to shut it down before the losses got worse.  But I'm sure that had nothing to do with Cindy McCain's real estate investments in partnership with Charles Keating.
