If there was to be a bird named after Waxman

I am thinking the Pip Squeaker

Everyone is bitching about Obama, Hillary, McCain, Huckabee, etc etc etc.

OK. Who would YOU vote for President and Vice President?

Let's pretend it's all up to you. Who would you put in the Oval office, and why?

If it were up to me, I'd support Bill Richardson for President, and Congressman Henry Waxman for VP.

Richardson has VAST experience in foreign policy, an area badly damaged by Bush bungling.
Additionally, Richardson, as one of the few American politicians respected by both the Jews AND Arabs, would have a much more realistic chance of forging some sort of Middle East peace. Certainly far better than the current crop of Bushie Crapublicans.

Henry Waxman as VP would do a fine job of reintroducing integrity to Congress. His long record of service is virtually unblemished, his standing as a man of principle and integrity is unquestioned, and though he may have a less than exciting personality, he is stable, and speaks in English, not prevaricative nonsense.

This is a ticket i would actively work to help elect.

If it was my choice I would make myself President, and then I would have Waxman hung..Of course it would be a quick and fair trial..

No trike ride for you, EVER. Asshole.

if you knew he was the resident asshole, why bother?

You can't have everything perfect.  If you can get most of your particular corner of the world about right, you're a lucky man.

Odd.  The first message said it was posted, but didn't show up.  Then a repost got both of them.

Oh well.

You forget where you are, bro.

And BTW, I agree with you about Richardson...but Waxman seems a bit too much of a detail guy for me.

I actually like Obama...specifically BECAUSE of his lack of experience.

that's pretty good.

Actually, your question is a little puzzling.  1st, it seems pretty academic at this point.  Yeah, 6 months ago I might have gotten behind Richardson myself.  But talk of VPs were premature then, and it looks like a sure thing now, McCain vs. Obama.

2nd, you know that the medium is not well suited to more than a few sentences, and there's at least one school of thought here (on the forum) that politics should involve shooting 1st and asking questions later.

I was wrong in guessing that Clinton would be able to keep it close enough that she could out-manuever him at the convention.

Obviously, both parties have chosen people who are seen as mavericks or agents of change in their own parties, and by wide margins.

What does that tell you?  Grassroots are PISSED OFF?!!!!

Pissed off doesn't fix things, though.   As I told X, Obama's big selling point so far is that nobody knows for sure that he's a fuckup.

But the attack machines will come out soon enough.

Doc. As the old saying goes, "the pickens is slim". Not one of the current contenders perks my interest. If I had a choice, it would be Ron Paul or someone of similar philosophy who understands that government is not an end unto itself, it is there to serve the people, to protect liberty and to allow people to enjoy and exercise that liberty, not micro-manage every second of their lives. It makes not an iota of difference to me if my liberty is stolen by an asshole claiming to be a tyrant or an asshole claiming to be my guardian; liberty lost either way and the direction it went is of no importance; if its gone its gone. "Government of, for, and by the people". The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is not a right granted by government, it is given to everyone at birth by God, and is stolen by government or ptotected by government. Those bastards in government that constantly look for new ways to steal it need to be treated like the thieves that they are. Get the rope!!!!
