I saw on another site that Adelitas was closed? Could this be true? How about other bars?
Is the business much worse since the recession and the drug violence news stories? Are there fewer girls? How about during the weekday as opposed to nights and weekends?

And people were saying that rates have come down with the business slowdown. True?
I don't get out of the house until around 11pm...but I hear that people are paying less, and generally by converting dollars to pesos.
I don't frequent the bigger bars that were closed, but I do hear people saying pretty much the same thing you said.
Unfortunately I'm not a visitor, I'm a resident, but I might be able to help. Business is quite a bit worse if you compare it to a few years ago. I don't think the actual head count is down, but the money is not spent as liberally. A lot of women are doing a lot of things for not a lot of money. You can get a good independent outcall for $50 USD.
As far as the violence goes, I see it only increasing. As there is less money to go around and people get tense, they also get hostile. I imagine we're going to see more violence between the organized crime people as well as more violence in the nightclubs and in neighborhoods.
I don't think there are fewer girls working. I think it's the opposite that there are actually more girls. Women that have either never before worked in the sex trade or that haven't done so in a long time are entering it again. I'm seeing a whole lot of new women both independent and with the small 1-2 person operations entering the scene that really don't know what they're doing. Lots of really strange business protocol that doesn't make any sense.
We're also going to see more women from other places in Mexico come to places like Tijuana in the hopes of making money. Tijuana is a complete hell hole no doubt, but it's also one of the most expensive cities to live in throughout the entire country. Workers from other parts of Mexico are coming in by droves, and the women are included.
Business in the ZN bars and in the alley is down considerably in comparison to a few years ago. But there are still more than enough chicas available to make a trip worthwhile.
As in the past: afternoons are busier than mornings. Nights are busier than days. Weekends are busier than week days.
Prices are more complex. The tendency in Mexico is to raise prices when business is bad. Some chicas are asking for more; however, at times discounted prices can be negotiated. And, when the dust settles, we're not talking big bucks. For most guys paying, say, $70 compared to $50 isn't a deal breaker.
The bottom line is you're a very picky man if you can't find somebody to please you at an attractive price.
