If he couldn't win his own party, he wouldn't have a snowballs chance in the GE, and he, or at least his advisors know it. It would be political suicide, as he would go down as the Democrat that got (insert name of republican candidate) elected. Thus effectively ending his own political career.

Cmon Quad, I know you miss Zin, but you don't have to start acting like him

roflamo...I wouldn't have a problem with inserting any of the Republicans and winning the Presidency except Huckabee.....lol  ..and with a Huckabee ,Hillary and Obama as indy ...Obama would easily win in my opinion.........

"Obama got the young white vote so they were important.
Obama still ain't gonna get the nomonation though as the Dems have a little thing called Super Delegates."

This has certainly been a exciting start to the nomination.. A lot of people are not so into the Super Delegates as they are portrayed as insider trading.. If Obama does not win the Dem nomination only because of the Super Delegates perhaps he will switch to independent.
Now that would be a true nightmare for Hillary.

but given your scenario of Obama(indy), Clinton(Dem), and Huckabee(rep), Huckabee would win in a landslide. He wouldn't get my vote, but he would still win in a landslide. there's not a single Rep that would cross party lines to vote for Obsma, and what few that would cross over for Hillary would be more than offset by the Democratic split vote.

Don't worry about it though, it aint gonna happen. It would end Obama's political career before it really even began, and even he is too smart to let that happen.

Sorry Quad

I disagree...I strongly believe there are many Republicans who would cross party lines to vote for Obama.......depending on who is running on the Republican side....I have yet to meet ONE individual  personally that is a Huckabee supporter..
Obama has a vast majority of youth vote on his side..So much in effect it is possible he could win as a indy especially against the huckster and hillary  but probably not aginst McCain{IMO}..I wouldn't be too quick to sneer at INDY possibilities as there is a big voting block of youth who are tired of the same...It is fairly evident the Dems did nothing since their "big win" and majority rule...though they did raise the minimum wage as their saving grace lol..

Washington Times Sunday Jan.27....Republicans who want change vote for Obama..on the front page.

Don't get me wrong I would definitely take Guliani , McCain ,Romney, over any Democrat but if I had no choice but to choose the Democrat Pres I would have to say Obama is by light years the best of that field..IMO..Edwards just reminds me too much of Howdy Doody..and hillary is devious

I am old enough to realize that if Obama fails to win his own party's nomination he has ZERO chance of winning the general election. the only thing he would suceed in doing is splitting his own party's vote, effectively handing the election to the Reps and probably ending his own political career. The dems would look at him as a traitor and he would never get any traction with the DNC ever again. No politician is that stupid, not even Obama.

I wager I am older than you in years but probably not in maturity..My guess is you are 42.

Define the "youth vote" if you would. Historically, 60% of those under 30 don't vote  at all. They make a lot of noise, but come election day, they have better things to do. MTV had a "Rock the Vote" campaign a few years back. Lots of rockstars, celebrities, etc., on MTV encouraging the youth to vote, but it was a dismal flop when it came time to vote.

very true. if any group sits out the election on account of Obama's failure to win the Dem nomination, it's these guys.

as for African-Americans sitting out and allowing the GOP candidate to win [which, since African-American poll around 90% democratic in presidential elections, removes a large dem voter base], it's sheer lunacy.  And something that definitely will neither be forgiven nor forgotten by the dem party profs in the future.
