... that the Democrats definition of "rich" is someone that does not depend on the government for basic needs.  Out of sight of the government, out of mind to the Democrats.

Both parties agree that there needs to be tax rebates involved in an economic stimulus program.  But the Dems only want the poor and middle class to get the rebates.  Their logic is "the rich" already have enough discretionary income so they won't spend any extra with the additional income (Does that make any sense at all?).

So who is "the rich" that have so much money that they can't use more and have nothing left to buy?  Single annual incomes of $85,000 or joint incomes of $115,000!!!  That is the Dems proposed cutoff point.  Now we know why "the middle class" keeps shrinking.  According to the Democrats EVERYBODY is rich.

We are probably the most likely to put our rebates immediately back in to the economy.

Come to think of it, the middle class is the most likely to save their rebate rather than spend it. The poor have no choice, they spend every penny they get. The rich have no need to "save" a paltry few hundred dollars. It's that pesky middle class that we have to worry about.

$85K would be pretty good in a lot of places, but it wouldn't be enough to buy a condo in southern CA or NYC.

Any way you cut it, the middle class is ALWAYS going to carry the load.   Maybe if people would stop bitching and just step up to the plate, we could save the hot air about the poor derelicts and the poor Republicans.
