I agree with Doc. Huckabee is the only Rep that could get me to vote for Hillary, and there is no-one that could get me to vote for Obama.

I trust Zogby polls, and things look surprisingly unsurprising in NH. Ron Paul is the 50-1 favorite; I don't think he's going to be the surprise front-runner.

Let's see if the Iowa Caucus has effected the Clinton/ Obama race

iowa, New Hampshire -- they have a reputation for all manner of quirky, contrarian vote-casting, aided and abetted by all kinds of open voting and lax requirements, as they enjoy their brief moment in the electoral sun every 4 year.  And given how demographically unrepresentative each of those states is of the US as a whole, well, that's like paying off a football wager after the opening coin toss.

I am pleased by Obama's win, Hilary's stumbled, and dismayed by Huckabee's win.  But the house lights are still up, the audience has just started to file in, and the show is nowhere ready to start.

I say wait a bit for at least one large industrial state to hold a primary.  I just can't get too excited right now.

You mean like China?  Our industry is doing pretty good there, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a primary.

If you mean our ex-industrial states, I think they are busy mopping out the McRestroom.

(and I doubt it will be that easy) then it seems the party cultural differences would be fairly clearly defined.

Given the stumbling of the last 8 years, Huck would have to distance himself, and maybe position himself as the nice Christian, the real Christian, a political Ward Cleaver.  No doubt he would bring out all the evangelicals, and there's going to be some KKK types, whether Huck wants it or not.

My guess is the wars will stagnate, and the economy will be well enough fucked by the end of the year that the Dems will win, and maybe hold narrow margins in Congress.  Any mgmt oriented Dem could hold a field day and look good for 4 years.

Economy is already in the tank. Just give it a month or two. W is already talking about stimulus.

More tax cut for the wealthy is in order

I'm voting for a write-in candidate.
I could not, in good conscience, support either of these two men.

Obama will easily beat Huckabee. The only one Huckabee could come close to beating is Clinton, and more and more Dems are starting to realize (or accept) that.

Its down to Edwards or Obama on the Democrat side..Hillary's only supporters are old ladies and gay guys who aren't Republican.
There is NO WAY Huckabee will get the Republican nomination.

Benson was an ace of an appointment.

How unfair can you be? Republicans still blame Clinton for the biggest tax hike in American history (pure stupidity) and yet still give him no credit for balancing the budget (pure deception).
