What, you thought Democrats actually loved the Clintons?

For most Democrats, the Clinton presidency might be called the "grin-and-bear-it" years.

There's not a more astute politician than Bill Clinton, but his centrism is uninspired, his political stands were always timid, and of course there's his famous mendacity.

I just wanted to take the time to thank Democrats, particularly Iowa Democrats, for putting Hilary in her place.  Third that is.

Like everyone else, I would love to see a woman president take a dump on the constitution like the men have done, but if Bill Clinton won't fuck it, I'm pretty sure it ain't female.

Again, thank you Democrats.  And feel free to borrow our testicles again on an as needed basis.

It looks like only little old ladies are voting for Hillary... She better flip flop quick..

. . . Clinton was at best a comical figure. If you think Clinton was favored by those inclined to vote liberal-Democratic, the ones so disaffected they thought politics too corrupting for them, you know only to what the Republicans at the time writing. You had your finger on the wrong person's pulse.

Remember, Clinton didn't attract 58 million voters to the polls-- as a mere John Kerry was able to garner. Where did those Democrats come from after Clinton? They certainly weren't mobilized by him-- weren't mobilized at all. They were totally detached from the political system.

I can cite some liberal writers (and cartoonist) at the time who were really unimpressed with Clinton. The memorable statement being, "I guess he's better than Bush (Dole)." I remember another underground comic during the Kosavo bombing, saying that we desperately needed to find a woman to give Clinton a blow job or he was going to start WW3.

Now, there was an outrage about the phenomenal out-of-proportion, inconceivably stupid Republican treatment of Clinton. That backfired and gained Clinton sympathy. Any guy who ever got a blow job under questionable circumstances could suddenly imagine a prosecutor going hardline on them.

But even with his charm and skills, Clinton the man didn't inspire people into protesting and agitating about it. People coming to the aid of Clinton during impeachment? Never happened. Any protests about it were based on the unfair, extended investigation, the flimsy charges, the damage to the nation and the presidency, and the fact that we looked like asses to the whole world.

The latter two we'd have to get used to under Republican control. If Clinton is more popular now, Republicans only have themselves to blame. Dubya has certainly made Clinton look like the master statesmen, the reincarnation of Marcus Aurelius.

I have no problem at all saying I liked, and still like Bill Clinton. He was flawed, yes, aren't we all in some manner.
I think Bill Clinton still has much service to give to his country.

Hillary on the other hand, not so much. She would serve her country best by sticking to the Hill, or running for governor.

The people are ready for a woman to be President I think... but the Old Guard is not.

Actually , I think that she would better serve her country by running for the hills instead, lol

In all seriousness though, even though I still can't stand the woman, if it came down to her or Obama(which it most likely will) I'd would have to go with her. Please (diety of choice) save us from having to make a choice between Huckabee and Obama. Retiring in South America is looking better and better.

Your thanks are misplaced; it wasn't the Democratic voters who won it for Senator Obama.  The numbers showed that Clinton and Obama tied among Democratic voters. It was independent voters who provided the winning margin for Obama.
