Intercontinental is a pretty rough area... I would be very reluctant to stay out there, even though the rooms are nice. I actually quite like the downtown area, but you need to do your homework on which places require a key for building / elevator access. What works for me as a native may not work for visiting ladies. Your safest bet on tour will always be Galleria - huge hotels help you fade into the background. Best of luck!

Hi guys & ladies,

I know the Galleria is the preferred area for hosting and have visited there before.  Lovely.  Now I have a civvie opportunity to visit downtown Houston in 2014 and am wondering whether this area is okay for hosting as well.  I realize it may not be AS convenient as the Galleria, but anyone have thoughts about whether it is still a decent area?

Thank you for your thoughts,
Zoey

but I think downtown kind of dies down in the evening.  Have you gotten any feedback from the locals?  I'm planning on visiting in Jan and will probably be out by the Galleria

Westchase and Sugarland are great areas also...
I think quick in and out access is best...Galleria can make some appts late....Besides, I dont think The gents like sitting there waiting to pull into traffic from the hotel lot when there leaving ..lol...Have fun !!! Safe travels....

I'd love some incall location advice if anyone would like to share via PM!

Another area I have found to be good is the 288/518 area. I have done fabulous there. I am glad someone brought up downtown as I have been in the galleria the last three days was trying to figure out where to go next. Some of the gentlemen have also told me that I-45 and fm 1960 is good. I have been living in Massachusetts the last ten years and could tell you anywhere and everywhere to go there but as far as H-town goes, I am not sure. Hobby airport I would say do not go to less than a three star hotel.  It can be a little rough.  Does anyone know how intercontinental is?
