You're right. We're in complete agreement. The political playing field is far too toxic and poisonous to ever again bear sweet fruit in its current condition.

It is comical to think of the cowardly, spineless Democrats refusimg to participate in a Fox News debate and be asked questions by journalist such as Brit Hume but the Republicans subjected themselves to CNN YouTube debate hosted by the very lightweight Anderson Cooper.

Everyone knows about the gay Army General controversey.  I believe that showed how lazy CNN is with their fact checking.  But this article explains why they pushed immigration so hard.  It is Lou Dobb's obsession and getting more people interested in it will help Dobbs and his CNN primetime slot. Some other questions that CNN permitted were on the Bible and the Confederate Flag.  Hard hitting stuff. What a joke!  The next debate should be broadcasted on E! with Perez Hilton as the moderator.  It should be just as insightful and serious.

What else would you expect from the Communist News Network

Many people will choose a candidate because of those answers. Same with the democrats. It's important to some that one candidate has one plan for health care. Another has a plan for balancing the budget.

You had POV and plans on immigration: now that's important for voters. You had questions about the FAIR tax, and since dissolving the IRS got a lot of applause, you could tell people were listening to that.

Again, whining from conservatives. There's enough material out there for everyone to make an informed decision now. It's unbelievable. It teaches me that conservatives can never be happy with the media-- for ideological, not factual reasons.

The one thing that is universal is the whining, whether it comes from the left or from the right.

To claim that conservatives have a monopoly on whining is ridiculous.

At least you acknowledge the whining from the right.
Most of 'em disguise their petulance in the form of rampant and rancid hatespeak and swiftboating.

Let's face it, Ga... the fact is, the entire political spectrum is completely overrun by corrupt, self-serving idealogues who are holding the TRUE silent majority hostage to their dogmatically narrow worldviews.

Chappaquiddick! Watergate! Iran-Contra-Sandinista! Whitewater & Monica! 911! 911! 911! Valerie Plame! Terry Schiavo! WMD!
Abu Ghraib and Larry Craig!!!

(inhale, Doc, inhale!)

Whatever your mantra is, we've ALL got axes grind. The BIG problem is this: the people in charge of fixing the problem, ARE the problem.

When you're right, you're right.

That's what I can't stand about partisans, they only see evil on the other side, they never even acknowledge the possibility that their own side might be guilty of the same offenses that they accuse the other side of.

Doc, we are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but the one thing that I think that we both can agree upon, is that neither side actually represents either one of us, and probably never will.

You're right. We're in complete agreement. The political playing field is far too toxic and poisonous to ever again bear sweet fruit in its current condition.

This isn't about whining from the left or the right. If anyone red the link to the LA Times story int eh original post, their media columnist was slamming CNN for bad journalism and using the event to pander and promote Lou Dobbs show by highlighting an issue that isn't high on the list of concerns of most Americans.  CNN deserves to be slammed, but not for partisanship or bias. They deserve to be slapped for placing self interest before their obligation to the candidates and the public to hold a meaningful debate.

the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved a temporary waiver on rules barring ownership of both a newspaper and a broadcast station in the same city in four markets and a permanent waiver for the city of Chicago.

Essentially, this clears the way for the Tribune of Chicago which owns the Los Angeles Times to further consolidate their media empire. Prepare for more salcious news articles on Jennifer Love Hewitt's derriere and criticism of Will Smith inadvertly detailing the ending for his movie; "I Am Legend".

What is perceived as journalism i.e. Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, the Anderson report et al are actually editorials. CBS 60-minutes has also become another derivative of Entertainment news. No one with an ounce of objectivity is able to defend Katie Couric as a journalist.
