And speaking of dreams, I can't wait for the results of the '08 election - no matter which candidate wins, it won't be a Republican and watching your head explode along with all your slack-jawed witling kind will be sublime.

It's only a matter of time.

If you're thinking about becoming a democrat - you may want to take this little test to make sure you are going to fit in.

25 ways to be a good democrat...
If you're thinking about becoming a democrat - you may want to take this little test to make sure you are going to fit in.

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but urban activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
10. You have to believe that having self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make The Passion Of The Christ for financial gain only.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it manipulates certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that as long as there is a Republican in the White House, they are responsible for everything from the direction the wind blows to vaccinating the entire world for a flu that 116 people have contracted. If however, a democrat is in the White House - the responsibility no longer exists.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.
21. You have to believe that John Kerry’s Purple Hearts are legitimate, and that a Massachusetts Senator more liberal than Teddy Kennedy can be elected President of the United States.
22. You have to believe that the ACLU knows more about raising your children than you do.
23. You have to believe that signs that bear the statement, "In God We Trust" are offensive, but pornography is not.
24. You have to believe that offending a Muslim, Athiest or Homosexual is absolutely intolerable, but offending a Christian is o.k.
25. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.

I'm not Jeremy, and I don't claim to be a Democrat or a Republican.. but I think what is "stupid" is the premise that such a list can sum up the beliefs of entire group of individuals, or that such stereotypes can be held up as fact. Such generalizations are "stupid" in that they show very little understanding of the actual issues.

What bullshit. Partisan shit like this is what makes the Bush crime family thrive.

"Oh look it's the ACLU. pay no attention to all those dead GIs."

Pathetic.

I think you guys bring it upon yourselves...

A couple of my favorites..can you discount any of them legitimately?

"23. You have to believe that signs that bear the statement, "In God We Trust" are offensive, but pornography is not.
24. You have to believe that offending a Muslim, Atheist or Homosexual is absolutely intolerable, but offending a Christian is o.k."

Now don't get me wrong or misunderstand me or twist my words...lol go ahead twist my words ..you libs are best at that..I like live pornography.. I don't practice  sadomasichist behavior but if someone else wants to do so I really don't care..I don't practice Homosexuality but if someone else wants to I really don't care.. I don't practice Christianity but if someone else wants to I really don't care...I am not afraid of Homosexuals and I don't understand why so many of the libs are afraid of Christians??? Please explain other than " Wa Wa Wa I don't want it shoved in my face"   Think about it before you answer..

P.S In case any of you get any ideas I already promised if I ever go gay jacko is first.

The problem with all 25 is the same as the problem with these 2 - it's a question of absolutes and ridiculous extremes.

Do you really believe that all Democrats find the statement 'In God We Trust' offensive? Do you really believe that all Democrats are atheists? Are there no Catholic, Protestant, Eiscopalian, Jewish or Muslim Democrats?

There are many Democrat people of faith, and that statement is just silly.

Same as number 24 - many democrats may believe that it is rude to offend anyone, and I don't know many (if any) Democrats who think it's OK to offend a Christian. What is interesting is what Christians find offensive - often simply the way someone else lives their life. Also interesting is that they seem to share this trait with fundametalist Islam - the idea that someone else must be controlled. These things we all shoudl find offensive, I think.

I hope you don't think I've twisted your words, and I hope you'll respond with some sincerity - surely you don't believe these points as stated any more than I believe  the lists that belittle Republicans like:

   *
Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals, Hillary Clinton and environmentalists.
   *
Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
   *
Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
   *
The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
   *
A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
   *
The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
   *
If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
   *
A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
   *
Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
   *
Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in the public schools.
   *
A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
   *
Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.
   *
The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving and drug records are none of our business.
   *
Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
   *
Supporting "Executive Privilege" for every Republican ever born, who will be born or who might be born (in perpetuity).
   *
What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.
   *
Support for hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by the quail.
   *
Ethics and moral values apply only to the rest of the population, not ammoral, greedy, power-hungry conservative officials who will do absolutely anything to ensure GOP electorate majorities and wide access to Republican-friendly lobbyists.
   *
Illegal immigration is bad. Except for when they are willing to work practically for free while performing slave labor for you.
   *
George W. Bush is the messiah. Armageddon is near. Period.

What do you intend to do, vote absentee next week? Keep up that pseudo-lib smugness, it will serve you well.

If you want to know why Xtianity gets so much heat here in the US, it might be because it is the only religion that is actively attempting to influence Govt. policy here. The fundies, that is. We attack what we fear. If Pat Robertson was Muslim  we'd be giving him just as much shit.

Is it some offensive lib bastardization of the word Christianity?  I am not a Christian but respect the religion and find it offensive when people make light of it just like the xmas crap! Trying to take Christ out of Christmas, it is the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth, so the aclu can get over it!

If you think for a minute that the retail event called 'Christmas' has anything to do with Christ you are as mistaken as those who believe that modern day Christianity has anything to do with the teachings of a man named Jesus.

or maybe Puke? Bet you have that capital L sewed into all your clothing.

You do your consevative brethren proud.

You truly reinforce my mistrust of grown-ups with imaginary friends.

What many of us would like is to take the blood lust and joy of killing out of Xtianity. Here's a reminder of what many of you seem to have forgotten, dramataized for the theologically challenged:

But be sure and "brick" your camel before you start out into the desert. Don't forget an extra towel and sheet, it could be a long journey. Also, remember to keep your thumbs back when you do the brick trick.

I'll bet that reply actually made sense to you.

Harryj, LMAO. Haven't heard about the camel bricking trick in a long time. How many more gallons was that? I think puck is gay. Maybe him and the camel should meet. Naaahhhhh. The camel has better taste than that.

requires just as many ideological paradoxes and hypocrisies.

I'd sooner be an independently thinking American who is more concerned with the principles on which this country was founded than a Kool-aid addled minion blindly accepting the propaganda from either of the lobbyist, money drunk factions.

But when they put LSD in that kool aid it sure messes their minds up...........forever .....and they just don't realize it.

As well as the CIA for mind control applications it is no surprise how & why so much has found its way into the Kool-aid favored by the Right-wing faction.

Exactly when and where was LSD tested on the military, or is that another urban legend. I never got any. Damn.
