Your right i usually laugh when i see 25.00 off from 350.00 for a discount of 7.1 percent. It just doesnt impress as much as say 10% would.
I often see providers offering specials and I appreciate them but I have two questions. 1)Is the purpose of a "special rate" an attempt to generate a lot of new business or just attract a few new clients and giving regulars a break? 2)How do providers arrive at the dollar amount they are offering. I see several providers offering $25.00 or so and I wonder how much business that generates. In my business when we offer a special it is a percentage off the normal price and in my experience it has to be in the 10 to 20% range to generate real attention. So I am puzzled when a provider offers say $25.00 off a $350.00 rate if that generates any real business or are you just cutting your regulars a price break.
I am not making this comment to offend anyone I am genuinely curious what the thinking is on special rates.
No offense taken here. I run my specials when I want to reward the regulars and attract new clients. I don't consider $25.00 off of $350.00 much of a discount but that's just MHO and I'm in the massage business so things are a little different for me.
Everybody has their own way of promoting their business. It's up to you gentlemen to decide which rates and specials work best for you ;o)
