In fact, the judgements ARE dischargable in bankruptcy. They are a simple civil judgements.
They were issued against the church and 3 individuals. They could file a chapter 13, and attempt to convert it to a chapter7, but full disclosure of assets will have to be determined. Of course, it would be easy to request an appeal.
The State of Maryland also has homestead exemptions.
Collecting will be difficult, but not impossible.

Now try to collect:  but it's not dischargable in bankruptcy, and it can be hanging over their heads for decades, seizing for example vehicles they use for transport valued over the state limit, etc.

Hopefully, the judgment is against both the group and also each individual.

I'd love to make these fuckers' lives as miserable as they make survivors.

He would have been long putting the smack down on ALL of these types of religious fascists from every sect in every corner of the world.

it could be the church bureaucracy or something.  Here, he needed a lot of help from some ambulance chasing shark.

Maybe God was confused by the assholes passing as Baptists.

Fred Phelp's Baptist church, and so fucking crazy that they couldn't do anything more complex than demonstrate, arrange an auto wreck, maybe blow up their BBQs.   Not that they don't want to.

The larger groups are more seriously scary, because they pull votes and have real skills and money.

the common problem is that many states limit the time to collect.  Like you get 2 10 year periods in CA.
