I always lay the envelope down on a table or counter where she can see it. I've never known if she counted it or not. If she did it in front of me I wouldn't care.  Though I know not all the ladies do things exactly the same way all that I have seen state on their website to place it down upon entry.

A different experience might have caused me to do things differently but to this point I've had no troubles and see no reason to change my procedure.
