I received a business card from a streetwalker. It said "Mia 555-5555"
That was it. Name and nuimber. I kept it in my wallet for years as a novelty. I'm sure she must have had some regulars that used the card, and if anyone else just happened on the card, and called her, what would they say?  "Hi is this Mia? I found your card. What business are you in?" She would probably hang up or lie. Anyway I thought it was actually funny. It was the only time I have ever seen or even heard about a "hooker business card." Never saw or got one from an escort.

That was back in the day when few people had cell phones. In this day and age when people not only have cell phones but most people have smart phones, I rarely even see people in other legit businesses even pass out business cards anymore. They just trade numbers and input it in their phones.

i attended a local social yesterday, and was handed a business card by one of the gentlemen.  it was suggested to me that i might want to do something similar for the gents.

just wondering if this is something that would help, or would it just be thrown out before you got home?

You're in trouble.

All business practices don't necessarily translate well to this one.

Business cards are one of those things.

#1if the man is interested in the provider giving the card, he will keep it.

#2 If the provider giving the card puts Escort, Hooker, and what not, wouldn’t be at the M&G (I hope)

I have attended several M&G’s where providers have given me cards once I show some interest and have met few good providers. There was one provider, she used to put a code and will tell you two tell her the code when you call so, she will know who you are.

with your hooker site on it to be handing out at formal events and the hotel bar lol. I find it tacky, but that's just me. Some women swear by it. If it's at a meet and greet where both providers and hobbyists are in attendance, I guess no harm no foul as they know what you are doing anyway...would never do it in some random place like the airport or the hotel I was working out of.

In places like Vegas, this is common practice in the Casinos, but I don't live in Vegas lol.  On a side note...wtf is a married man going to do with a business card from an escort? Put it in his wallet next to the family photo? Most will be tossed in the trash without jotting down the website link.

They simply have her name and phone # or email address, not a link to her site.  They describe themselves as "personal assistant" or "model."  I know of one gal who made it look like the card was from an auto repair shop!

The M&G's here in LA tend to be crowded and the volume level in the room can make it tough to hear and that is a problem when you are trying to write down an email or phone number.

I have Business Cards from a few of my favorite ladies....One has her stage name and a slogan with something like "Art in Motion" with a descreet photo in a picture frame so it looks like she is a photographer....another has her  name and her website logo and her email address. It was much easier to take their cards than fumble for the info.

Just my $0.02

we all carry phones, just as easy to put the info in our phones, save a tree!

That's what I thought everyone does nowadays, even in other 'business' situations, as I mentioned in my post below.

To each his own but...

I did this long ago when I first got into the business..

It can be used as evidence against you
It can be found by a wife/coworker etc.
It maybe thrown away and found by someone else
They are cheap to make but.. it is a waste of money..

If they/The customer wants to find you, he will....

I wouldn't want to jeopardize my lifestyle with tangible evidence, even if the business card is discrete. I already have a difficult time keeping my hobby phone from my SO. No paper trails, no receipts, no business card for me in this hobby.

You have a personal website to advertise in, and that is plenty enough IMO. Business cards are good, but, not in the hobby world.

Business cards are line a yellow page ad. They contain links that a person can find easily.
I see this done less and less now but in the early parts of 2000 cards were flying all over
the place at parties. Never leave a paper trail.

A long, long time ago when I began working for an agency, and when I briefly worked for a brothel, I had these very elegant, simple cards made that were engraved with my name, Ava, and the number of the agency and brothel ( later).  But most of the men, save the single men, refused to take the card, and I wasted my money on LOL buying 500 of them.  I think it's not a good idea, personally, not discreet at all ( I learned the hard way in my novice years of working) and I wouldn't waste the time. I think it would get thrown out or not taken at all, or worse, the guy may take it and his SO might just find it!!!

She was very cute - stuck it down my pants in my tighty-whiteies.

I'm glad I saved that card because I contacted her quite a while later when I was in that town again, and we have had several wonderful times since.

I say use them.

Ok, but not all guys are as cognitive as you. Half of them would forget the crap in their wallets or pockets, and then we get the "You fkin whore, leave my man alone" emails. Just saying lol.

Yup, I got 34 phone calls...COUNT THAT...wife found his card tucked away in his wallet and called me a total of 34 times to curse me out, etc.  And I loved it when she left this message saying " I don't know why my husband would pay someone as ugly as you." You mean, you looked at my ad too??? LOL!! And it was funny because the client told me one reason he saw providers was because his wife gained a lot of weight and weighed almost 300 pounds.  I don't believe everything I am told but it could be true, the way that wife went after me when it came to looks..." You have ugly bolt on tits, " " I wouldn't pay ten cents for a skinny underfed fish like you"...yes she said all that and more.

That is wayy too funny. I have only had one wife/fiancee/girlfriend phone call so far and we ended things on a good note. I felt terrible for her but wouldn't give any info. She said that he said he didn't "do anything" with me. I told her it was probably true, a lot of men hire me just to talk or go to lunch. Yea right!

Hey Hot Ellen,

I use sticky notes (program) in my Android to keep any provider information. I don't need business cards. Besides, most likely the provider's phone number will change frequently, therefore, phone numbers are useless. In many situations, same goes for email addresses.

That's why I use the sticky notes and I can change any information on the fly without having to accumulate a ton of useless business cards.

for use only at meet and greets.  as for myself, i spoke with a few gentlemen that i wanted to contact, just to say it was nice meeting and talking to them.  now, after meeting a few, i dont know what their screennames are, since they introduced themselves using their first name.  lol

my thought was, that this is possibly a scenario that they, themselves were in today.  (especially if they had a couple drinks)

i would never want anything with my contact information floating around randomly in the public, but thought the idea might have a use in this situation.

thanks everyone for your input!

ouch!  i can imagine the repercussions that could come from even just one incidence of an SO finding it.  not worth it.

thanks everyone!

I had learned many years ago about paper trails.
Business cards can be forgotten or left in a wallet. If the wife is nosy and finds a provider's business card it can unleash an unfortunate series of events for the hobbyist and sometimes even the provider. However, it is the hobbyist's responsibility to decide if accepting them is worth the risk, if any.

Pass them out with the understanding that some spaghetti may stick to the wall.

If a fella passes along a card of a respect High-end "Call girl". It's best to name her "Fred Johnson".. (Mechanical repairs for Bentley,Rolls Royce,Ferrari,Corvette). Specialist By appointment only,,,Never leave the card of a working girl in your wallet, glove box or office. Just put "his" number down in your pass word protected cell phone...Catch the drift?

Have you forgotten one of the cornerstones of this business is discretion.   Provider cards are not discrete.
imho.
