She's not the perfect candidate, nor my choice for the nomination. But I do like her and think she'd do a good job as President. If she is the nominee, my vote for her will be a vote for her and not just an anti-republican one.

Jim Webb has proposed a lifetime 5% tax break for veterans, and to re-institute the GI Bill, though I don't know current status on either one.
You want to cry, don't go to Jim. You want to get things done, listen to him. He may well wind up Dem VP candidate.
I agree Webb would be a top tier candidate for the VP slot, but with the Beltway bickering at its worst ever, I think he is serving his constituents and the greater good much better as Senator at this time. If for some reason the GOP takes the Oval in '08, I see him as a definite Pres. candidate in 2012.
I think Bill Richardson is the natural choice for Dem VP in this election cycle. He does not have the support or gravitas for the Presidency, but he certainly brings much to the table as #2.
And he has appeal to both sides of the aisle. He would draw a slice of the moderate and progressive Republican voting block away from the GOP ticket.
I doubt seriously that any moderate Republican would wote for Hillary no matter who was on the ticket with her. OTOH The same case could be made in reverse about many of the potential Republican nominees, so WTF do I know?

Senator Clinton has proposed increasing the capital gains rate from 15 to 20 percent, not 30 or 40. And people already pay tax under existing laws on the profits from selling their principal residence apart from the Internal Revenue Code Section 121 exemptions. Nothing new there.

Hillary is far from a fool. Her personal ambition probably outweighs any other principle she has, and there is no way she'd risk a crash.
I've got news for you, If you live in the home for 2 out of 5 years there is no tax up to I believe $500,000 for each spouse. I may be incorrect as to the exact amount and if so I apologize in advance.

Same with Webb - appreciation for his work for vets is not a wider endorsement, and I think he's smart enough to let it age. In his shoes, I wouldn't move too fast, either. I don't see him as an incredibly ambitious person, either. He's been around the block, but he's no career politician, and I think his motive is sheer disgust at the present state of affairs. Of course, complaining is one thing we're all good at - wading in and fixing it is a bit harder, and that's one reason I like him.
I'll bet None of the Above would probably be a shoo-in for either party.
