what I want to know is, who let you out?

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (NBC) -- When they came home from Iraq, 2,600 members of the Minnesota National Guard had been deployed longer than any other ground combat unit. The tour lasted 22 months and had been extended as part of President Bush's surge.

1st Lt. Jon Anderson said he never expected to come home to this: A government refusing to pay education benefits he says he should have earned under the GI bill.

"It's pretty much a slap in the face," Anderson said. "I think it was a scheme to save money, personally. I think it was a leadership failure by the senior Washington leadership... once again failing the soldiers."

Anderson's orders, and the orders of 1,161 other Minnesota guard members, were written for 729 days.

Had they been written for 730 days, just one day more, the soldiers would receive those benefits to pay for school.

"Which would be allowing the soldiers an extra $500 to $800 a month," Anderson said.

That money would help him pay for his master's degree in public administration. It would help Anderson's fellow platoon leader, John Hobot, pay for a degree in law enforcement.

"I would assume, and I would hope, that when I get back from a deployment of 22 months, my senior leadership in Washington, the leadership that extended us in the first place, would take care of us once we got home," Hobot said.

Both Hobot and Anderson believe the Pentagon deliberately wrote orders for 729 days instead of 730. Now, six of Minnesota's members of the House of Representatives have asked the Secretary of the Army to look into it -- So have Senators Amy Klobuchar and Norm Coleman.

Klobuchar said the GI money "shouldn't be tied up in red tape," and Coleman said it's "simply irresponsible to deny education benefits to those soldiers who just completed the longest tour of duty of any unit in Iraq."

Anderson said the soldiers he oversaw in his platoon expected that money to be here when they come home.

"I had 23 guys under my command," Anderson said. "I promised to take care of them. And I'm not going to end taking care of them when this deployment is over, and it's not over until this is solved."

The Army did not respond questions Tuesday afternoon.

Senators Klobuchar and Coleman released a joint statement saying the Army secretary, Pete Geren, is looking into this personally, and they say Geren asked a review board to expedite its review so the matter could be solved by next semester.

Minnesota National Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Kevin Olson said the soldiers are "victims of a significant injustice."

Appalling? Yes. an embarrassment in front of the world? Absolutely. But a surprise? Under this most heinous of criminal administrations, its merely part of the overall pattern. This is the responsibility of George W Bush and he should be villified and censured (at the VERY least) by Congress. But he won't because as vile as the Republicans are, the Democrats are spineless and just as dysfunctional.

And to the harryj's and quadseasonals and RWU's (is that you Ed2000?) go ahead and keep claiming the High Moral Ground... this latest revelation merely proves the thin ice upon which you stand, the sheer hypocrisy arrogance and hubris of your preferred leadership.

I'll say it again. We are approaching the critical mass of Secession, and the eventual breakup of the United States into regional city-states. It won't happen overnight, but in a hundred years from now it will already be historical fact.

FUCKING YELLOW RIBBONS, EH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, Gonz, there won't be any secession.   Because while loser ass rednecks are pissing about liberal judges, NAFTA is establishing Costco all thru Baja.  And you know how cool Costco is.

There sure will be a lot of radical rearrangements, like politicians finding that they have to pay 6 figures to sign up recruits.

Medical insurance is going to be a BIG battleground IMHO, because there are tons of money there, and major components (ie psych) have no (zero zip nada) objective standards, and it will be used as the political battleground for funding the traditional issues on the theory that I'm a bigger victim than you are.

The secession is more likely to be about people hiding from taxes.  So I'm gonna have my kids major in Fraud Transfers.

And while costco is great,  ever notice the alliance of the southern states with Mexico?  as evidenced by Taco Bell - and KFC in the same building?

Bwahahahaha!

Pollo Loco is what you have to worry about.

That is one dangerous organization, started by one of them wetbacks just as soon as he got to East LA, he just picked up a copy of Daily Worker and went BATSHIT!!

Now those wetbacks are making money hand over fist, and even sending their boys to Iraq to cash in on the oil, I'll just bet.

but I suspect technology can solve that problem.

Or just get Kevin Costner on it.  Maybe he can make some money on that movie after all.

deal with any of this?  You can always google technology, man - I mean the word.

And what do you think Aquaman was fucking drinking, SALT water?

Read The Fucking Manual:  Engage Brain BEFORE Putting Mouth in Gear!!!

Besides Aquaman lived in the ocean... and last count I saw indicated that most land dwelling plants and critters use FRESH water... and even as we speak - fresh water supplies are few and far between...  Dems da wars I'm-a talkin' 'bout- who gets fresh water, and who does not.

Look at a frickin MAP you ding dong... why do you think Mexico wants to reanex parts of the SW?  the rivers - which they do not have in northern Mexico.....

Take a look at the mid-east. Not a lot of fresh water.... don't ever kid yourself..... Water... big issue.... and that one is gonna get worse.  Even if global warming is a total hoax....
