Why not?  This country prefers it.  Please don't give them someone who makes them actually THINK!  Just a good soundbite and a macho attitude...Daddy, save us from ourselves!!!

Saddam Hussein:  "He is–was–a dangerous irrational man who, by this time, would have been well on his way to having the nuclear capability himself."

Apparently after a long investigation by Jack (Hang 'em High) McCoy, Thompson has concluded that Hussein would be controlling the entire Middle-East by now if left alone!!

Yeah, Fred, it was very evident how powerful Saddam was getting by the fact that we took over that whole country in 48 minutes.  The US couldn't take over a Wal-Mart that fast.

Thompson has only been in the race for about a month and he's shown repeatedly that he is incapable is intelligently discussing issues without a without script in front of him. Here are some of Fred's recent greatest hits:

-- During a trip to Florida, he appeared lost when asked to comment on the Terri Schiavo end-of-life case that so consumed first the state and then the nation all the way back in 2005. "That's going back in history," he said. "I don't remember the details of it."

Also in Florida, here's his reponse when asked about the touchy issue of Everglades energy exploration. "Gosh, no one has told me that there's any major reserves in the Everglades, but maybe that's one of the things I need to learn while I'm down here."

Then came a question Thursday about his home state. The result: another whiff. Talking with reporters while fundraising in Tennessee, he was asked about a federal court ruling last week that the lethal-injection procedures are unconstitutional. He replied: "I hadn't heard that. I didn't know."

Looks like another politician is finally able to challenge Bush when it comes to being uninformed. This guy is a pure joke. I can't believe that many Republicans were looking at Freddy as the savior of the party.

That is precisely what gave us GW.

A year or more before the 2000 election I recall reading where GW Bush had a campaign war fund that dwarfed any of the other candidates (red or blue).

All Thompson needs to do is prove to the entrenched corporatocracy that he will staunchly defend and promote their status quo, and sure a shit they'll ram him down our throats with as much Hollywood hype as can be manufactured and bought. Even if the popular vote were proved against him; the current (proven) machinations will sadly again prevail.

There's no doubt he'd be a corporate lacky.  The guy spent most of his career as a corporate lobbyist so they'd actually be electing on of their own.

Bush has already hired every corporate lobbyist and put them in a department that oversees regulating the industry they lobby against being regulated.  If Thompson was a lobbyist he would already be working for Bush.

oops.  Guess that's TMI.

Oh well.  You people just go fuck yourselves.

GW had some very direct family contacts with corporate elites.  Furthermore, it wasn't just him, it was the guys with him like Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Thompson is about the laziest candidate that there is. Moreover, he seems to be far less physically fit than Dick Cheney.* If it weren't for his laziness, a campaign might just kill him.

Corporations are committed to a different strategy this election: influencing Democratic candidates who are corporate-friendly, like Clinton.

I don't think any democrat need fear Fred Thompson.

My favorite part:

Step One: Media goes ga-ga over Colin Powell and his WMD presentation to the U.N.

Step Two: Media insists that Powell is an unimpeachable source and that anyone who criticizes him must love the terrorists.

Step Three: Media demands that we must invade Iraq immediately before Saddam Hussein can drop anthrax down our chimneys.

Step Four: U.S. invades Iraq. No WMD are found. Things quickly turn to shit.

Step Five: Media wrings hands and spanks itself for getting swept up in war fever and not being critical enough of Powell.

Step Six: Media goes ga-ga over David Petraeus and his report to Congress.

Step Seven: Media insists that Petraeus is an unimpeachable source and that anyone who criticizes him must love the terrorists.
