City to Buy Strip Club
OCEANSIDE – Oceanside California taxpayers will pay $1.5 million to buy and close the Playgirl strip club but won't even get a lap dance out of the deal. The City Council approved this purchase to clean up the area's reputation. the owner will receive $700,000 for the property and $800,000 as a relocation settlement, as required by state law. The settlement includes an agreement that Arthur will not reopen in the city. Mayor Terry Johnson has worked for 10 years to buy the club but doesn't know why the owner finally agreed. Taxpayers can probably think of 1.5 million reasons why he'd sell.
There are only 2 strip clubs in Oside, Platinum and Playgirl. Plat is topless only with booze & part of a chain. Playgirl is full nude, no booze and a real toliet inside. Even the walls are nasty, never mind the dancers there. I went once, stayed 5 minutes and left never to return.
Too bad it's gonna cost the taxpayers 1.5 mil.
Hmmmm, I wonder how much it costs to open up a new club? Sounds like a great investment opportunity!!!
Yes, you'd think we could do better for our marines at Pendleton. Poor guys, Oceanside to the South, and Orange County to the North.

I must say I certainly agree with your opinion concerning Oceanside and the unfavorable attributes it has surrounding the hobby. I also can only sympathize with our very unfortunate Marines, as services are scarce at best in these parts.
The MP you referenced, the one that's straight, is it on Hill St. (Hwy 101) next door to a liquor store? Also, are you familiar with the new MP on Vista Way about two blocks west of Hwy 101? It looks promising, but looks are often deceiving, so I'm not sure.

Check out the Sunday edition of the North County Times. On the front page, there's an article about the Playgirl's closure, and it turns out that the owner of the Playgirl also owns the massage parlor that I mentioned in the previous post - it's called Pleasure World. The article says that the police made several arrests there in the past for prostitution. Interesting because I had believed it to be what you said; the place has been open since the '70s though, so many things may have changed over the years. This guy apparently owns the lingere shop off of College also. Read the Article.

I went there once in hope of a release. There was a sign post on the wall that stated,"NO EXTRA'S, SO DON"T EVEN ASK". I just took the massage a good little pup after seeing that. I did not want to offend the lady.
I didn't know about the one on Vista way. I will check it out. i didn't even know about the lingerie shop until I went past it a couple of weeks ago on accident. It was lame.
We need to get more providers up here. Thuis sucks.I recently spoke with a lady that provides massages in the area. She stated that Encinitas is a bad place to work due to LE. She claims that it scares most of the providers to the Southern locations. I have a bad feeling she's right.

There was a News article in the NC paper that said the city will not allow their Police to call or work with the U.S. Border Patrol when they come across illegal aliens! Hmm..I wonder if they come across illegal Arabic men, if they will call them?
I hope the tax payers of that city fire all their officials for not spending the money on helping to clean up all the illegal aliens. Ever here of the gangs in that city? Mostly illegal Mexicans who are criminals. Why do LEO waste their time going after Adult Entertainment? There are real criminals out there.
