My wife will tell you...YES. She just had her annual and they squashed them good. Are you doing your monthly self exams? I'm sure that you don't have great health insurance, but they are very important. Especially if your family has any history.

We'd like to keep all of you around a long time....

and if you need any help with those exams ;)~

GO GET YOUR FLU SHOT!!!

I'm not kidding, the flu this year is hell on wheels. I just got over it, and I was unable to get out of bed for 8 days. In my opinion, it's right up there with "Captain Tripps" (for you Steven King fans).

Arizona Department of Health Services 24-hour Flu Hotline is (602) 225-8933

Did you know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month??
Ladies keep up with you mamograms (if you are old enough) and remember to do those self exams...or if you are like me, ask someone to help, that is always more fun lol.
During 2003 an estimated 211,300 new cases of breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States. Be aware of your body and keep up on your exams.

I dont do them just because I always freak and think I have lumps everywhere. Then I hyperventalate. (How ever you spell that) I just wait till its my annual and have the doctor touch them.

sky

My first one made me feel like I was going to have two pancakes left of them when the wench was finished flattening them!!!

Luckily, I've had much better ones since then and have a much better perspective now. It's still not comfortable but it's nothing compared to losing a breast just because you didn't want your breast squeezed ;o)

Best of all, it only takes a few minutes and it's over.

A mamogram shouldn't really hurt, it will be very uncomfortable but done correctly it shouldn't hurt. Sky I think you are still to young to have the mamogram, but you NEED to do your monthly exams. Around the age of Mid thirties to early fourties is when you should have the mamogram done, and your doctor will reccomend it as an annual thing. Even if you have breast implants you can still have a mamogram, they won't break or damage the implants.
Read the info on the site on how to do an accurate self exam, just be calm and the more you do it your self the more you will know the way your breasts feel naturally, so if there is a lump you will notice it right away. The lumps you think you are feeling are most likely fibrod tissue, which is totally normal, ask your doctor to show you how to do a self exam, that way if you feel something odd, he is right there to check and see what it is.
Having implants means you should do some light massage to the breast tissue to keep it from hardening around the implants, I am sure you can find a volunteer to help you with that lol ;P

This is important for those who work with the public. Influenza is not often deadly for the young and  healthy. BUT it sure can make you very sick for a couple of weeks. Consider getting a flu shot.

You're absolutely right about the importance for those who work with the public, especially working so intimately with the public. I've been so very lucky in the past and have never gotten a flu shot but I'm going to stop gambling and get one this season. I'm not just doing it for me but for everyone that I come in contact with so that it isn't passed around here.
