I liked your first choice. Michael Savage..A legend in his own mind.

Political is Okay if you truly believe it is a great book but nothing without depth such as ...I will name a right winger ...Michael Savage :"The Enemy within"...

I will start with a non political Fictional Book called "Swan Song" by Robert McGammon{possibility of bad spilin on the authors name..

Yeah, I admit it. He's is just so full of himself that I can only listen to him for brief stints myself. Two or three minutes usually does it for me. lol

although the two are inexoribly linked.

I highly recommend the works of Sam Harris.

His work End of Faith is very compelling.

His essay Letter to a Christian Nation is spot on.

I will check out the Sam Harris but I hope its not  anti Religion.. Even though I am not a Religious person I do firmly belive in Religious Freedoms. Actually I believe in all freedoms as long as you aren't hurting someone else. I had the religion drilled in me when I was a youth and even then I was not one of the sheep..I would argue some points the Nuns or Priests made and although I would get a thrashing for being most obstreperous with some of their views I never backed down ......ROFLMAO.In first grade I wondered how they could call themselves The One And Only Holy Catholic Church.... I remember one time going ballistic on the priest when he said even good children in Africa who had never seen a missionary would not go to heaven unbaptized.I scoffed openly at his insolence and I still bear the scars ..Thank God I was never a Alter Boy .. Anyone touches my arse its going to be a lady........unless I become gay

I recommend this : Richard Hofstadter, "The Paranoid Style In American Politics and Other Essays."

May be in print as a Vintage paperback.  Not to be missed.
