I have that...I don't make it available to anyone except very favorite people because yes, payment can get stopped by the payor and you have to give the money back. I don't care to mess about with that, but I do love the convenience of it for time when one of my faves needs to use it.

You can set it up to appear on the credit card statement however you like, so you can make it as nondescript as you like, but keep in mind you have to attach it to a bank account, so that does potentially make your personal info a little more vulnerable.

After reading the last entry about deposits and such, I see someone suggested using square. I have seen commercials for it and have visited the website but how does it really work? Anyone have any experience with it and how many people actually pay with credit? How does it show up on a persons credit card statement? Is it possible for someone to cancel payment after an appointment. Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else, but thank you in advance for any help with the matter.

CC can charge back, or hold funds it is a hassel & I fo not care to waste my time.

It works like a charm.  However, if you take a card and don't swipe it, and the amount is over $2,000, they will immediatly deposit 2gs and then you have to wait 30 days to get the rest.
That's probably how they make their $ plus it might be a govt. tracking thing.
The remainder of the money came in right on time.

You can take a cc over the phone with just the real name, number and other cc info, and zip code.  Then you sign the customer's name and either text or email them a receipt.

Works GREAT for deposits.
I have not had a charge back, but I also only take deposits from people I don't already know.

unlike Paypal (unless you gift) if you have a client sign your Square it is harder for them to chargeback because they were physically there with you...

perhaps for deposits it might still be a hassle
