Thank you!!! And I can't imagine the traffic being much worse than Atlanta. :p it's a nightmare here.

Hello Toronoto! My name is Andie and I've been considering a move out of the US, but not off of the continent, for quite some time. I searched through threads and wasn't able to find anything so sorry if this is another repost but what would be the best area to be in in Toronto? Of course, pm's with specifics are always recommended. Thanks!

Are you a Canadian Citizen?

If not, and you plan to escort in Canada you need a workers visa which is not allowed for anything related to sexwork.

Otherwise, as a visitor are limited to 90 days and can not do any business.

As a frequent visitor to Toronto area for 10+ years enjoying not to worry about legal issues I always stay in "Sauga" Mississauga - which is where the Toronto airport is.  I hate downtown and traffic/parking mess, although the 401 can be terrible even out in the Sauga area.

While there are many independents a lot of companionship is via the huge agencies with complete info on websites, driver provided etc.  There is a huge number of companions as well as clients, without the legal issues of the U.S.

I don't do escorts much but love the nude-reverse massage places in Sauga.  Sauga is also very liberal with the best contact strip clubs etc thanks to recently retired at about 90 yrs old Ms Hazel the mayor for eons.

So I wouldn't be able to escort there without a work visa? I'm not very familiar with the laws regarding sex work in Canada. Is it regulated?

It's a cash business and it's not regulated so no need to worry. The only problem is competition as there are a lot of sex workers here.

If you don't drive stay downtown. If you drive you can be out of downtown but I recommend the closer to the lake the better

Would you or other agencies hire her without a Work Permit?  I said VISA in error don't need if U.S. citizen but I thought most were very strict on work permits which can not be issued for any adult entertainment etc.

Of course she can stay on her own, however, she has to have a good reason at customs when enter and usually quiz you about intent etc.

I bypass all that with a Nexus/Approved Traveler pass, but of course not for business.

Toronto is good but Vancouver is better.

Neighbourhoods young SWFs really like in Vancouver: Yaletown, Downtown, Kitslano, Westend esp. east of Denman St.

When checking out Canadian neighbourhoods do so in _January_ to see what you think of the climate at its worst. Then consider moving to Belize

The main reason I'm considering Toronoto is being its outside of the US but still relatively close to the east coast, where most of my family and friends are. I would looooove to be out west seeing as I was born on the west coast, but it's just so far and I know I would slack on visiting people. :p

I thought the process was difficult, don't you need a reason to move, not just up and move there. You make it sound easy girly.

Anyone can tell me what do we need to move there, work visa? Marriage? Just get up and move rent a place without any Canadian documentation ? Start Canadian residency process while staying there? How does this work? Anyone?

Oh, gawd, this is a HUGE question: immigrating to Canada. That said, it is friendlier than other countries, including the USA. If you can find a legit job you may be able to get a visa fairly easily as an American, especially if you go the NAFTA visa route. It's the easiest for an American to get, check out the process, you just go to the border with your papers and Immigration Canada gives you a visa right then and there. But working in this biz does not qualify.

You can also get this visa by opening a business in Canada, but one selling sexual services won't work. Massage parlour, maybe?

Once you become a legal resident - check on that but it should start right away - you are eligible for citizenship in four years. You can keep your USA citizenship. You will file annual tax returns in BOTH countries from now on. Uncle Sam really never lets go.

Marriage? Yeah that's a fast route.

No on massage.  Licences limited and have to have 3000 hours of approved training to be an RMT in Ontario and most of Canada except B.C. only 1000 hours.

Adult body rubs all licences taken most anywhere -no training required.

Holistic Health Centers - difficult issue, many Asians try and hide here and do adult massage, but most are straight. Licenses limited.
