Las Vegas has regular M&G events, hosted by several very generous folks.  Why would we want to attend something that's the equivalent of an agency party?  If the guys don't go, what will the ladies do there?

It's all just too confusing...

Times have changed and the adult business has really felt it too. Clients are much more careful about where they spend their money these days. Most of you are advertising on here, or sites like TER or Backpage, but many clients who come to town as tourists, or for trade shows or conventions - are looking ahead for who they want to contact before they even come to town. This leaves many of them doing web searches - but unless you have the time and money to invest in a very good website - that kind of leaves you out. There's the card distributors who are out there on the strip - but that's only going to reach the clients who didn't plan ahead. Besides, one agency reported having to spend $4000 a week just to get a return of $6000 a week.

Different times call for different marketing. If you post here on CL - then you all know that they are now providing information to LE. This is scaring off a lot of the wealthier, married, professional clients who don't feel like taking any risks. Some of you don't feel like using a credit card either to advertise here. Besides, you get flagged and then there's 100 other ads just like yours for a client to wade through.

We have a solution for you. Las Vegas Lust Magazine. We're going to print and distribute 25,000 hard copies monthly starting in January. While many of your businesses can't do a direct mailing to a client - we can. We're going to direct mail our magazine to the attendees of the upcoming trade shows, expos, conventions, etc. We can get lists of these attendees easily and mail it to them. This way they have information in hand they can browse through to make their plans ahead of time. If they've already booked with you before they even come to Vegas - they're less likely to be distracted by someone passing out a card on the strip or some girl at the bar.

We've also made arrangements for this magazine to be distributed at local strip clubs, massage parlors, cigar shops, golf shops, head shops, and other locations where men will be and notice the publication. This is going to reach the clients who aren't going online to look for entertainment. Not every potential customer goes online - so this is the perfect way to reach into a bigger pool.

We'll be advertising not only adult services - but also adult entertainment, shows, newest adult DVD releases, swing clubs, and anything else someone looking for adult entertainment might want to know how to find it.

In a survey we did of clients recently - we discovered that part of the trend towards them being very cautious with their money isn't that they don't want to spend a lot of money - they are just cautious about committing to any high amounts with an "unknown". For this reason - "meet and greets" are becoming very popular with the high paying clients. We've made arrangements to have a once monthly "meet and greet" party at a local strip club. There you will have parking, security, the bar, etc.

Along with inviting prospective clients to meet you - we'll be inviting those who would give you referrals - cabbies, bartenders, other agency owners, club owners, etc. It's easier for someone to refer you business if they've met you first. We've already located sponsors for this event that will allow us to make sure as many people as possible that would be of help to your business can be invited and assured to get a free drink on the house along with some gifts and prizes for their trouble.

There will be an online directory of advertisers for those seeking services online - but with us distributing a print publication - you'll be tapping into a whole new market.

You'll also have your ad distributed by the card distributors. Get the same distribution as the one agency said they got for $4000 a week. By pooling the ads and distributing the one publication - you'll get that same distribution for a fraction of that cost.

Don't worry if you don't have an ad designed - we include free graphic design in your ad.

Contact us for inclusion in January's premiere issue.

If you need a website to go along with your ad - we're running a special on 5 page websites with your own domain for only $50. That offer expires December 20th.

For what?  I don't get referrals from you and when I go to TER events - I only meet individual clients and other providers.  Sometimes I get referrals from other hobbiests and providers - but I don't get a steady stream of them.  Business is strained and I'm not comfortable posting on CL anymore knowing they're now giving all their info to LE.  I don't have a lot of money to buy ads on Backpage and I only get a couple of calls a week from CV.  I need more business - and I can't afford a lot of advertising, I don't work for an agency, and I can't afford to pay for card distributors.  I have no problem going to strange mens' homes for money - so I sure as hell don't have a problem going to an event that's going to be in a public place to meet people who can give me new client referrals.

I've been invited to this party.  Sorry to break it to you - but the promoter has already told me that not agencies are coming because then it would just turn into a catfight.  The only ones being invited are private providers and people who would give them referrals.  You don't sound like you got an invitation and you don't want to go - so great.  You don't sound like a provider or someone who can give us lots of referrals.  The agencies already have lots of money to spend on ads and lots of money to spend on going out to make contacts - but us individual providers don't have that kind of budget and need an event like this organized for us.  We also can't afford full page yellow page ads like they do.  So this event is going to present us individual providers who can't afford what agencies afford, nor do we have a pimp, or can afford someone to go out and tout us or to run 100 ads everywhere.  Times are tough and we need an event like this to help us get referrals.  I appreciate what she's doing for us.  Too bad you have a problem with someone helping us "little" providers out.

I'm not sure why this bothers you as much as it seems to.  You've lamented on a couple boards about business being slow, and guys wasting your time.  I feel for you in that regard, as this is not a good time for people to be freely disposing of their incomes.  You also seem to be new to TER, and it's not the easiest community to become welcome in.

All that said, I've been to a handful of M&G's.  Most of the people at the parties know me, and I'm regularly asked for input from guys looking to meet new friends.  For the record, I've not received an invite to this event, nor would I attend if invited.  It has a cheesy feel, IMHO.  If it turns out to be the event of the century, I'll publicly apologize, but doubt that'll need to happen.

If it works for you, great.  I sincerely doubt that it will, but it's your business to run any way you'd like, and I wish you the best with it.  I really do...

no wonder her business is slow Phil, with salesmanship like that who wouldnt want to see her. we and others have offered humbled opinions and she goes off like a broken down exwife.

Yup, I gotta agree that her approach doesn't make me want to pick up the phone.

I always thought that using an alias was well justified when a provider wanted to bitch without hurting her business.  This might've been one of those times where it would be prudent.

In this case, it sounds like somebody is standing up for a bad business venture in the hopes that it will help them.  My question is...WHY?  I hope it's just a case of bad decision making, and not some more nefarious cause.

I know how cabbie referrals work for strip clubs. Generally, the cabbie takes the client to whichever club offers the best toke.

This is why I never take a cab to a strip club, by the by, because a good number of strip clubs will let you for free in like a local if you show them car keys (because they didn't have to pay off the cab driver).

Anyway, these sorts of relationships are generally based around money because, well, it's Vegas. I'd wonder who's going to be paying for all this largesse, but since I'm a lowly hobbyist, it ain't my problem.
