I've changed my opinion several times since being here. zin changed my concept of Global Warming...

You have certainly broadened my mind about my perceived "Jewish innocence" all middle-east issues.. (however I still believe Jews have a God-given right to that land!)

BSD, sunsword69, stamina4hours have expanded my range of thinking on countless subjects that would typically be "mentally out of my reach"...

And Bush-whacker and Jerome Bender caused me to realize that some people are truely beyond hope! And given me a greater understanding of the scripture where Jesus told his disciples to "kick the dust off their shoes" at the edge of town and leave the people in their ignorance....

The heat re the Imus story makes me wonder if all of us are preaching to the non-convertable?

The heat re the Imus story makes me wonder if all of us are preaching to the non-convertable?

Dude!!! HELL-LOOWWW???? Why do you continuously post about AIPAC & Israel? do YOU really believe you are going to convince anyone to change their minds?
I certainly don't expect to change yours. Nonetheless, I continue to respond to your posts to balance what I perceive to be an exceeding bias.

Just as with EVERY issue this board latches onto, there are people on both sides of the fence.

The Imus situation is unique for me... I find myself agreeing with people I loathe and am contemptuous of. No Xiao,not you... Pat Buchanan has come out strongly in support of Imus. That leaves a very sick taste in my soul.

Nonetheless, I stand by my guns. Imus screwed up, yes. But he would not have lost his job, nor a 40 year career ended in disgrace if not for that cock-sucking Al Sharpton. Media grubbing, race-baiting, hate-mongering piece of shit that he is, always going on and on and making mountains out of molehills just to see his fetid face on TV.

give me the opportunity to say it to his face. that way I can make the best use of Al Sharpton. As a spittoon.

I think occasionally, we can make someone see a situation from another perspective, and they gain enlightenment from the process.

Otherwise, we're just here to kill time while the glands regenerate for the next pop.

Jeeze, DG, a land speed record for responing.  And not with a 1 or 2-line humorous toss-off either.

I was thinking about posters somewhat less "committed" and perhaps more open-minded that you and me.  Fellows like, for example, BSD or zinaval or sunsword69, to mane a few frequent contributors, or a less frequent contributor like Harry Lime or foo.

I really enjoyed this passage, it brought a very broad smile to my grotesque mush and a few hearty guffaws as well :

"I find myself agreeing with people I loathe and am contemptuous of. No Xiao,not you..."

You would have gotten me to the LMAO stage, possibly even the ROTFLMAO stage, if you had composed it this way:

"....contemptuous of.  No, Xiao, NOT JUST you..."

You see, this way you keep intact your immense ire at me for the opinions i hold and seek to persaude other to adopt, AND you link me, however tenuously, to someone light years ahead of me in uber-egregiousness, good old Pat B. A name which never fails to provoke both laughter and dread in me at the same time. I would have readily seen the humor and appreciated it very much.

To paraphrase someone : "Posting is easy, amusing posting is hard."

Ciao From Xiao [haven't used that one in a long time!]

BTW, I see your reviews jumped from 41 to 46!  Semmingly overnight?  Obviously, it was not just  just tax season which kept you busy!

am tired of some getting away with all the hate speech, bias, and attacks on what I wish to believe while other ways of belief seem somewhat protected.  So- I am now in the camp of shut 'em all down... from Limburger to Hannidy doodie... to that egotistical maniac... Michael Savage...

to Katie.. cootie, to the NPR crew - and especially Paula - let me endanger your kid - pound her ass.

They all need to just go... and then play some nice barry manilo.... or some Moody blues.... or elton john... yea... i can hear your song now..... ahhhhhh

experience. Though I did not completely change my mind on the those that did not serve in the Armed Forces, I listened with a more open mind. I went from vile contempt of the Vietnam War Draft Dodger, to realizing may be I should listen, before I begin making accusations based on biases that was programmed in me since childhood.

BizzaroSuperdude's rationale on Global Warming has been enlightening.  Both NOSC and BSD, Zinaval et al are articulate communicators and offer reasons for their opinions. I appreciate that. Though I may not change mind, I will listen and be open to change when the communicator offers rational and civil discourse.

to listen to and to be moved by gentle suasion, here's my opportunity to, once again, bring up that beaten-to-death-horse-of-a-topic :  the reinstatement of Jack0.

Yeah, i know, this seems of interest only to me, but what the hell?  He's a spectre haunting the Politics & Religion Board.  Perhaps it's more correct to say that his absence haunts this Board?

You moderated Jack0 for reasons well-known and understandable, given your role and responsibility  as moderator.

He's been gone for appx 4 months.

But Jack0 brought a lot to the table while he was here.  Some of his "virtues" :

1. he posted often and early;
2. had a wicked sense of humor;
3. googled more stuff than anyone else on the board;
4. never dull;
5. stirred up a lot of shit, which I think is one of the primary reasons why we come here.

I'm pretty sure Jack0 is lurking, I think it's time to bring him back in from the cold.

This week the Board was aflame re Dom Imus, with pretty much everybody against Jeremy Bender. [I found myself on the same side as Doc and RightwingUnderground.  How often does that occur?] That's how it oughtta be every day, and that's just one of the reasons, an ability to provoke and inflame and temporarily throw opponents onto an unfamilar common ground, why Jack0 was such a great presence here [IMHO].

I'm not his friend, I've taken hits from him. I suspect that he uses at least one alias, and under that alias he battered me for an entire month last year re immigration.  And I battered back, as best i could, and no hard feelinsgs.

When last brought up, the lineup was 2 votes to 1 in favor of JackO's return.  Me and buckoch voted in the affirmative, with GOPGeezer voting in the negative.  You position was that, if there was a 2/3 favorable vote from the Board "elders" [you gotta identify these folks, but I think they're pretty much the same guyzs you listed as "pillars" of this Board] Jack0 would be restored to the good graces of the Board.

So, once and for all, could you PLEASE call for an open vote and we can settle the matter? If there is an open vote, and Jack0 doesn't make the cut, I'll never revisit the topic. I'm petty sure i'm not the only one who favors his return, just as there are those who are glad to be done with him.

So let's see where we stand,once and for all.

Sermon completed.

TY.

...Infact, I left an open invitation to him, that I'd consider each of his future posts on their own merit, but he's never even tried... Fuck him... LOL!

Nor I, but I'm sure he lurks and I know he PMs folks.  Maybe he'll see this, and...

Perhaps thre's a question of face-saving involved.

You once posted to me [!] that disagrreements on the Board do not make us enemies, it makes us adversaries, who can acknowledge their differences and go on to post [and in Jack0's case, post and post and post...] another day.

Yeah, you're still pised off as hell at him.

But "Fuck him..." ?  That's your anger and annoyange getting the better ofthe better angels of your nature.

For whatever it's worth [or not?].

... And My "fuck him" quote has a humoristic-twang to it, lol!

Who knows... Maybe if he showed me a few weeks of stable posting behavior, I'd even unmoderate him, but we'll never know, since that GIANT chip on his shoulder prevents him from playing the same game everyone else plays...

(And when I say "stable" I am NOT referring to the content, language, or topic of his post, I merely mean his B-E-H-A-V-I-O-R as it relates to board-spaming just because he's feelin' pissy...

if it was him, then he leads an incredible life... and is impressive in person - if that was not him.... at the LV M&G before the AVN show... then whoever that dude I bugged prior to the show instead of all the lovely ladies... well - he is just that interesting.  Good meeting him....

As for the ladies... and DrG and BBB's party - it was spectacular!  (actually better than the AVN where I had to sit in the bleachers!)

Unless M&Gs are held at adult group-homes or care-facilities...

In AC's case, probably an impossible thing to change.

she is a BBW Black lady - and she did make me think - We both have New Orleans in our background... and the city is different for blacks and whites... she helped me understand "how different"!  something that even a close black friend of mine from New Orleans was unable to do!

so yea, I do listen.. - but to change my mind... one has to do ones homework... and not just post the pablum... has to be reasoned and well researched .... and accurate.
