I will be traveling to Madison and have never stayed there I am not familiar with the area any advice on good hotels that are pretty decent at least 3 stars in the downtown area
XoHilton is nice but a bit pricey. It's just off the square which surrounds the capital. Crown Plaza on East Washington is nice but a couple miles from downtown. It's across from a large mall and has lots of chain restaurants in the area.
I've only been to Madison once & stayed at the Sheraton & it was a good experience... It's off the beaten path but they have shuttle service... Hope this helps...
