IMHP....training and experience are very important. Safety first. I would be happy to serve as a practice partner and would be willing to pay for it. What fun that could be....

I have to ask how the fellas feel about non-pro's practicing for pay & usually to high of a tribute.  How do you feel about paying a Mistress in training to gain experience on your dimes?  Do you think they should offer a discount because they have no clue what they are getting into, or need practice with their new toys, etc...

Just curious because I read horror stories on the board regarding providers who claim to be pro domina's, but at the end of the day they are really charging you for practice.

When I trained new talent I always did, so by offering a huge discounted rate for practice it is better to be honest.  Thanks for reading & hopefully you will share your opinions as well.  Happy Sinful Sunday!

Would be interested to hear the horror stories.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I have honestly always been a little skeptical of the whole idea of professional BSDM as a skill requiring extensive apprenticeship. Obviously there are some safety issues involved in a lot of the activities but the main thing for me would be whether the lady was naturally dominant or not. If she wasn't, I doubt that training would be of much use. If she was, I wouldn't mind letting her practice on me. Sounds pretty neat actually.

Would you pay 300hr, or more for her to practice on you?

I have a hypnosis client this wednesday & Ive never done it before so I'll be offering a discount. If one is not capable of performing at 100% then one should not charge 100%

Hypnosis is a fascinating idea and I would love it if you would tell us how this worked out. As someone obsessed with reliving a psychosexual trauma the holy grail to me is when someone can make it seem as REAL as possible. I've always wondered if hypnosis might not be able to enhance this feeling. Kind of mind-boggling to think about. This might very well be a very special BDSM skill requiring some apprenticeship after all.

I think a discounted session is only fair.

I've been for massages where they offered me 2 massage girls for the session (at no extra cost) because one was training.  I think that's a pretty good model.  As long as you are there in your teaching capacity, I think it's completely acceptable to charge the normal session rate.

If the trainee is on her own with the client, then it's up to her whether or not to charge full price or an "I'm still learning" discount, but the client should also be made aware of this in advance so he has the choice.  It's not right to charge someone full price to be with a trainee if they aren't aware that's what's happening.

but how can one prove that they are trained?

In an "industry" where it's not regulated, you can't prove so,  You only can give your word.

Sad reality is, people lie..

Just playing devil's advocate here..

As to answer your question, when I was "trained" (and I use that loosely.. Reality is, I had no formal apprenticeship,  The lady at the house I wanted to train under was too concerned about losing money due to the "competition" and decided not to take me or anyone else on.  Which is fine, I think that I did quite fine over the years without her, thanks to attending workshops and retreats worldwide, reading books on the topic, and having alot of lifestyle friends that had itches that their gfs were not scratching for them), I was paid the regular rate as everyone else.  Personally, I think that if you are really have interest in bdsm, that you should not be paid anything and should attend workshops and train on your own time.  Otherwise, if you are getting on-the job training, you should be paid as such.  There are guys out there that pay the full rate for a ladies time - even if they are training.  But, that's just my opinion..

I'd be delighted to work with a domme who needs practice, but it would definitely change the dynamic of a session.  I'd be more carefully considering the safety aspect of what she was doing.  I'd be wondering if I should make suggestions, etc.  I'm sure I'd still be delighted by such a session (the sensations would probably be just as great!), but I would think extra time for the normal rate would be a reasonable quid-pro-quo.
