this may be a great reason to invest in a throw away phone, no strings no account just add minutes when you need them. The Agency will have your number to that phone and if they lose it give it away whatever, it won't matter.

...when an agency text messages me that they are having a special this week?  I gave them my number for RS2K verification a year ago and I thought they were supposed to "lose" your phone number once the date is done.  Am I just being paranoid?  BTW, I don't mind finding about specials.  8^)  Sorry if this is on the wrong discussion area.

No, not really a red flag, I get those all the time. However, if you want them to lose your number, I am sure they would if you ask.

Keep your information whether or not you give your permission. If that is a problem for you I would suggest that you use a throwaway phone as others here have suggested. Just because a provider or agency claims not to keep any info doesn't make it true.

If they lost your number how would they know who you are a year later{If you wanted to come back}??
If you are worried about a LE investigation and having your number on file don't forget its already on Verizons master file when you called the agency...

I only worry about my GF finding out I am meeting other ladies for conversation,,,That is why I have one of those disposable phones that I never bring into my house ..Its under the passenger seat with a guy at work's  name written on it..
If LE wants to trace me on a disposable phone that is a very easy thing for them to do..
Unless you are a Senator or a Governor or someone in the mob ,I can't see LE wasting time checking what providers you are visiting for intellectual conversation, via  your phone records .

If your GF finds out, then she will want you to pay her just to have a conversation. :)

I would love to know how someone can trace a disposable phone if you pay cash for it, and never give anything about you.   The only thing that they would be able to determine is where the phone happens to be (when it is turned on), and who it called.   Nothing else.

It would be very difficult if not impossible for my GF to trace a disposable phone however the police is another thing..They can trace a disposable with little effort... As I am not a Senator or Governor  the police won't waste their time finding me with my fav providers..

My question is how does one trace the phone to a specific person?   Given the following rules:

1) I purchase the phone at a small store that has no cameras, or I pay another person who I do not know to go into the store and buy the initial phone, plus a "booster card"

2) I activate the phone on a pay-phone somewhere where nobody can watch me, and give nothing traceable to myself to the activation agent, or use a shared computer in a library or the like if done by computer

3) When using the phone, I never use it in a car, only in places with no video cameras, and either inside buildings/parking garages, etc. so that no "eyes in the sky" can see me.

4) I turn the phone on, make a call, then turn it back off to prevent the phone from identifing itself to the network all day long.

Using that logic, how is anybody going to determine that it is me who is using the phone?

I think if you remove  the guy who bought the phone for you and also take out the battery whenever you use the phone and follow all your rules , you should be OK,,, Don't forget to remove whoever got your fake ID for you?

I forgot the weak link...All the hotels have security cameras..You used the phone before you went up to see her..The elevator has a camera..They know by now you are visiting her There are cameras on the streets..If they want you they got you..

If you read anything you received in your welcome letter from them, it states that they need the following to verify you in the future:

1.  Name
2.  Phone # (the # you listed with them)
3.  City of residence

In other words, this is the information you are required to give to the provider for verification purposes. Given that the phone number is a part of their criteria, how could they lose it??

Some gents use a cell phone # for verification.

They also tell you that if you contact a provider, you must use the phone whose number is on file.

The reason that men sign up with RS2k is simple; a) they only have to give all their information to someone once (employment, home address, etc.) and b) RS2k is a discreet prescreening service and your information is safe with them and finally c) many ladies only accept RS2k.

Hope that helps.
