Preferred411 ID reference?

I was searching around, and have chosen my next provider.  I went to the website, and I see they requests a Preferred411 as reference.  I have read about references on these boards, but that is through being known by other providers.  Using a website as a reference, well that sounds very odd to me.  Please read below...

I go to the website to take a look at what the website requests.  I feel that some questions ask a little too much of my personal identity.  Example, last 4 digits of your ssn, added with name, and birth date, than it cost me 60 some dollars after.  I feel as if I am asking someone to take my personal identity, than paying them to do it.  The last thing I want is someone to buy a BMW in my name that I didn't get to drive!  I do agree, that it is important for the provider to be safe from LE, and wackos.  Still I feel really hesitant of signing up to this site.

In short, has anyone had experience with these types of services?  Would it hurt if I just made a phone call without a reference?  I am sure a light screening process could be done over the phone.

P411, Date-Check and RoonService2000 are all valuable, trustworthy sites. The  latter two in particular have built excellent reputations among hobbyists and providers alike.

If a provider asks for a specific type of reference, she usually means it, and you asking her to make an exception just pisses her off. That's not the best way to make a first impression.

Light screening doesn't mean a thing if the gent on the other side is wearing blue. They can lie and they do.

Then, we have to whole "bad guy" who knows how to charm.

I so believe in the verification sites that I deduct the cost of membership from my first donation. It's safer for all of us.

We totally understand your trepidation but your have to understand ours. Go with either of the later two for sure. P411 clients seem to be good guys too.

I have seen many Gentlemen who use all of the above. Actually its less info going out on you in the long run. Most ladies are comfortable with this type of refs and you will end up giving out less personal info over a period of time.  true though, I know I do not appreciate a request to, make an exception on my screening. If you are seeing Ladies who screen and thats a requirement believe me, we won't see you without the screening, there are plenty of Gentlemen who are willing to meet Our ref requests without any bs. I just pass on someone who feels its too much to ask.

I am a member of P411 and Date-Check. I have used both quite a bit, and had no problems. As far as the SSN on P411, you do not have to give that to them. They have alternatives. You can put down any sequence of numbers in your driver's license. You really aren't giving them any information that you wouldn't provide for the lady. You're only making it available to a lot of ladies at the same time. The other plus is that the information is only available if you give the lady your ID information.

Good luck & have fun

Hold on a sec....my understanding from the RS2K site is that once I am 'verified' the info is destroyed and should not be available to the ladies or LE, just the fact that I did pass muster and am not(or at least was not) a wacko.  If what you are saying is true, the info is kept and given to registered providers when requested...that doesn't sound very secure to me.  I'm hoping you are wrong or I misread your post.

Can anyone verify (pun intended) this?

SMEGMA!!

I just didn't word it correctly. None of your personal information is given to the ladies. They are allowed to view your profile, but only the information you put in the profile. Your personal information is not given to anyone.

Sorry for the confusion.

Though there are ladies and agencies that will see you with minimal information. As a rule, the ladies that are asking for further verification mean just that. You are asking them to trust you so you are simply going to have to trust them and their verification requirements as well.

In the interest of full disclosure I am not a member of any of the verification services listed but I have yet to read a bad thing about any of them from the hobbyist's POV.

really if you see well reviewed Ladies, you need to realize just by reading their reviews if there was ever a problem with them and their screening it would eventually come out in a review. A Ladies reputation is her livelihood, so we tend to protect that which also involves protecting Our Gentlemen.  Its all a lot less risky than you think really. Do your research, and you will be fine.

Thank you for your replies.

I think I may have a problem with job reference.  I know this sounds funny.  If I am in the military, who should I put down as a work number lol!  I don't want someone to call and talk to my first sergeant, lol.  I don't have a personal work number, just my cell phone.  I guess I will give them my admins phone number.  I am sure if something happens, the worst I can get is a negative counseling.

It's better to beg for forgiveness, than to ask for permission.

Actually, if you already have references give those to P411.  They will in turn contact the lady to verify you.

P411 is great.
