Most providers in my area (Salt Lake City) prefer phone calls.

However, I saw a wonderful lady earlier this week who preferred email.

I guess it goes to show there are exceptions to every rule.

Hi all,
I have emailed a few providers and have received almost no responses. I have been very discreet asking only about a date a couple of weeks down the road. I haven't included any contact info, or references in these emails. Perhaps thats the problem? There are a couple I would really like to see, but they are email only for contact. I hate to continue emailing for fear of looking like a total newbie.
Any help/ideas are welcome

If you are not providing verification information and references in your initial emails, you'll have the same results.  These ladies advertise on the internet, and therefore get a lot of bogus email inquiries.  For all they know, you could be any number of people or organizations that they do not want to interact with.

Best bet would be to follow their contact instructions to the letter if you want a response.  Having said that, you should only be contacting well reviewed providers that you have researched on this site or one like it.  Don't start giving your verification info to just anyone, but when you do pick a provider from your research, give her what she wants.

Good luck

I like advance scheduling, but I understand a lot of ladies do not.  If you are not including screening information, perhaps you are not being taken seriously.

Give specific dates and times that you want to meet.  It makes the situation much more real for the provider.

I only accept email inquiries because I don't do last minute appointments.

If you are only asking about availability two weeks away without any info, it's no wonder you don't hear back.  Any of the well reviewed ladies on here have websites with contact forms.  Fill the form out and she should get back to you.

If you just email, make sure you include your name, a day and time you would like to meet and a reference.  That way the lady knows you are for real.

Good luck in your search,

Kari

While I've only been at the hobby a short while, I've almost a 100% response rate.  Without divulging specific "trade secrets", an introduction which shows that you've carefully read the lady's info, and stimulates intrigue on her part, seems to work for me.

Even the lovely Rina Takami (with whom I've not yet had the opputunity to meet in person)responded to my inquiry which did not contain either a single shred of verification info, nor a specific date & time request...

Thanks to everyone for the replies. What everyone said was very helpful.
I appreciate it.

I subscribe to a service called readnotify.com Tells when the email was opened and where. It's around $30.00 a year but worth it to me to know if they bothered to read my email
