How does one tell if someone is a VIP member and/or has a PM mailbox to send private messages to? It appears that all names have the mailbox icon but I've been told that if you send a pm to those people, some do not actually receive the pm because they don't have a mailbox.
Help?
The answer is essentially: There is no way to tell.
If you don't get a reply within a few days, that's your best indication that the member is not VIP.
When I first joined, I got VIP status for several months as a result of reviews I had written, but then the VIP lapsed for a few months. When I then added a few more reviews my VIP came back along with about two dozen PM's dating back several months.
It was embarrassing to have to apologize to each person as I attempted to explain that my VIP had lapsed and I was unaware of their message.
After that, I signed up for a year's VIP membership and have been re-upping since.

I always thought if there was an envelope it meant you could send that person a message. To bad TER couldn't figure a way to at least send the message back to you with a note undeliverable. I just love the newbie board and learned something new today.

to the best of my knowledge a PM sent to someone who is not vip will sit in their mail box until they get vip then they can read all their messages. so they are not really undeliverable. However I see your point and a very good one it is .
My opinion is there should be a waty to tell if someone has VIP or not.
OK now it is your turn to teach me something.
