It's all fine and good.  I suspect you're right about keystone.  Back when I was jjackflash (another clue for those who want to do some digging) NO ONE (and I do mean NO ONE) beat the drum louder about hiding behind aliases.  So, it amuses me that so many people think I'm hiding now.  Plus, I was a lot more "flammable" when I was jjf.  In fact, I'd go so far as to say I was a bit of a prick back then! LOL!!

On many provider websites, there is a contact form to fill out with all details etc. But many times, there is also a phone number given.

In this case, which is the best way to make initial contact -- fill out the form or call?

I usually call if both are listed. I like talking to the person before I meet them. That way I can get a sense of their personality and if we'll be a good match.

I will not answer a number I dont recognize.  If they dont leave a voice mail...you can call 20 times a day, I still wont answer.

If you send me an email from the contact page, I get to read it and get a feel of the person who is going to be calling.

Same as the hobbyist getting a feel for the provider by phone...

I don't know that there's a single answer to the question.  I'm a form type myself, just because it suits my style better. (nobody can really overhear my typing).  But, as luck would have it, I did some dialing today and it was all good.

My rule of thumb is to see if she specifies her preferred method on her website.  I try to make a point of not doing things to piss her off, lol

I don't have a phone number listed and I have a contact form for a reason.  It'll probably show that you are serious if you fill out the form, but I can't speak for everybody.

Sometimes I am unable to receive calls due to privacy issues; however, I will often talk with a lady prior to our date to establish a feeling of trust.

I usually try to find something that says which she prefers. If I don't see anything I usually call first, but many times just get voicemail or she answers and tells me to fill out the damm form. LOL! Then again, sometimes they answer and will even take the references over the phone which is great, I hate filling out the forms.

So far, I've simply made contact via P411's request feature and offered to speak on the phone if she would like.  All have responded via email (or not responded at all, which is ok) and we've had nice exchanges.  I don't want to be a pest, so if I don't get a response after a couple of requests I just move on.  No harm, no foul.

...ever fill out those contact forms!  If I can't glean their email address or phone # from their Profile Page and/or website then I consider it bad marketing on their part and they shan't get my business!

DW is not hiding, but exercising his right as a VIP member to use an alias. In fact, DW has many posts under that persona.
BTW, I never fill out those forms either.

Which is also exercising his right as a VIP member. He has many posts under that alias cause he hides alot. Given his attitude, I would keep on hiding if I was him or you. LMAO!

... If you're curious enough and able-minded enough you too can figure out my actual username.  When I took on DW as my new name it was in response to a fellow hobbyist/ friend's joke.  I ANNOUNCED IT ON THE BOARDS AND STATED THAT IT IS THE ONLY NAME I WILL USE (until I decide to change it, in which case I will announce that, as well!).  FWIW, the providers (especially the ones in my area) are especially in the know as to who I am!  So spare me your crap about hiding, as it does not apply.  Think about it for a second.  If I was "hiding" I wouldn't post at all (or very little) and always under a different alias.  As for this thread, my opinion (er, make that attitude) is so non-flammable that "hiding" isn't even necessary.  As for your perception of my attitude, I don't care in the least.  That's your problem.  This post is mainly for others, and so that the record is actually set straight.

you should just keep a text file about this, and then copy and paste every time it comes up.

This one was especially ridiculous....as you say, your post wasn't even a flame.

Hmmmm, maybe k's question was meant to be more along the lines of "why post under alias when you are NOT flaming someone?" LOL

You are some funny dudes, take this shit a little too serious...

If you are a local or located in or around my area a phone call to my voice mail works great. I listen to the message and hope all info I asked for is there. Name, where you originally found me, phonenumber and best times to call, most important if I may leave a message if you do not answere.Yes, I do same day appointments most of the time.

If you are from out of state then a call to let me know when you are comming is fine but I do want all info sent via e-mail to make my life easy. If you are a TER member with the message sent from here I will call long distance to talk if not then that call waits till you arrive at your hotel. To many heavy breathers getting off on my dime.   Kisses Haley
