Re: Number of posts?

At the top of this and every other board you can click on "Search Messages". It is to the right of the box for "Top 10 Posters".  Then in the box for "Author" put in anyones handle. Where it says 30 days you can change to any number you wish to go back to, and you will get a list of each and every post made by that person. You can then click on each one and read the post. At the bottom of the page it will tell you how many total posts that person has during the time frame you requested. Remember the list is only for that board, so if the person is on multiple boards you would have to go to each board to search.

BTW: You can even put an alias in the Author box and see every time that alias was used

How do you find out how many posts you or another member has?  For as long as I've been here I have no idea how to look this up.

If you hit the top ten it will tell you how many posts you have.  Other than that I don't think the info is available.

Isnt this like stalker material ? LOL

I GAS (I assume it means Give[s] A S**T because I was curious how many posts I had made. It was a simple question that didn't need smart-ass response.  But I'm glad you felt it warranted your time and effort to reply.  Thank you.

I do find the remarks about how to use a simple search feature to be rather odd. I use it alot, especially to look up old posts. For example, on our regional board there is a strict format on how to write mini-reviews, so the other day I went back to an old one, copy and paste so I have the correct format. Also, when I see a new name pop up, I may do a quick search to see if they are new, and what type posts they usually make, helps to know who you are talking to. I guess that makes me a Stalker? Oh well, WTF! :)

Well, I know how to use the search message function, but I was hoping there was a way to type in my name and see my total posts overall.  I figured from your response that what I thought was in fact true, to type in a date range and my name and just see the total at the bottom.

But I agree with seeing a new name and seeing how new they are, how many posts they have, etc. especially if they're posting an ISO or looking for information on specific providers, people, etc. I'm always willing to help another hobbyist out but A) a lot of times the information can be found on their own and B) if it can't I just don't wanna be throwing info out there recklessly.

When it comes to giving info out I follow Jim Croce's advice..  "don't spit into the wind".  :-)
