I have always stayed in hotels that had a bar and restaurant. With those there it will automatically add to the 'busyness' of the hotel.  When you check in make sure that you are dressed pretty conservative. That way you won't attract attention. One last thing, be sure to be kind to the staff.

This actually is a good question.  I don't know how you get a look around the layout inside?  Perhaps a post on your regional board would get a hotel suggestion from other locals...  (to the left here).
You could ask to see a room and take a tour?  My last appointment at a suites hotel, it wouold have been a great help if the lady had instructed me "come in the front entrance, turn Left to the elevators"  Gentlemen should call from their car, not the lobby.
Some ladies I see use hotels with outside access doors, they must be dressed to meet at the door.
Perhaps local ladies could at last tell you hotels to stay away from

1. Mom-and-pop hotels.  They're cheap and lot of CL pimps work out of them.  Therefore, these places are prone to LE stings.

2. places where each room's door leads directly outside instead of into the hotel's interior, ie Red Roof Inn, Some Super 8s, ect.  There's barely any type of security and anyone can just walk up to your door w/o being noticed.

3. 1st floor rooms are vulnerable.  People outside have easy access to your window.  More expensive places have only conference rooms and restaurants on the first floor.

I do not do incalls, but if I am visiting a fellow in a hotel, these are things I assess before making an appointment.  I suppose a hot tub and free breakfast are bonuses!
