END OF MESSAGE

Hi everybody!

It's Tuesday morning, it's weekly TER NFL time, and the playoffs continue on after every road team advanced in the wildcard round. The rules will be the same as last week, each correct pick will get you two VIP days, and correctly picking all four games will get you two bonus days for a total of 10. Please make your picks before NOON EASTERN ON SATURDAY (I'm going to be strict this week, considering you have five whole days and change to make picks there can be no excuses!) to be in with a chance.

This week's games (times are EST):

Chiefs (11-5) at Patriots (12-4)     // Saturday, 4.35pm
Packers (10-6) at Cardinals (13-3)     // Saturday, 8.15pm

Seahawks (10-6) at Panthers (15-1)     // Sunday, 1.05pm
Steelers (10-6) at Broncos (12-4)     // Sunday, 4.40pm

Days have been awarded for last week, and as always, good luck everybody!

1) Patriots.
2) Cardinals.
3) Seahawks.
4) Broncos.

There are no gimme's here...all of these games are likely to be close, and could go the other way depending on injuries, breaks, and turnovers.  That's my read anyway, FWIW.

From my original post, and my original analysis stands...

The Steelers have been hording the Football Gods' Shine (this past Saturday for example) for many years now...it's time to spread it around a little.

t took them 39 years (and an Immaculate Reception) to even win a playoff game. So the Football Gods have decided to shine on them these past 45 years...It's only fair!

They were up 15-0 on Saturday entering the 4th quarter, so they had the game in hand...I think  w/o Ben's injury, the margin of victory would have been more comfortable. But, yes they needed an implosion by the Bengals in the closing minutes to get the job done.

This week's game, even with a 100% Ben/Antonio Brown/DeAngelo Williams would have been extremely difficult to win. Less than healthy, and the task is monumental. Hopefully, its shades of the old Steel Curtain and perhaps they get the "bad" Peyton Manning in the playoffs

As a lifelong Lions fan (yes I do admit it in public), I can only dream of my team being horrible for only 39 years (last NFL Championship-1957, one playoff victory in the history of the franchise, zero trips to the Super Bowl).  Please forgive me for being somewhat envious of all the attention that the Steelers have received from the football gods over the last 45 years.

For my money, the turnaround began with Chuck Noll and the drafting of Terry Bradshaw, and many awesome drafts since.  How many Hall-of-Famers were on those Steelers' teams of the '70s anyways?

They probably will have a tough time winning in Denver this weekend, but nothing will ever surprise me again regarding the success of that franchise.

Greene, Lambert, Ham, Swann, Stallworth, Franco, Webster, Bradshaw and Blount are all in the Hall of Fame. Plus Coach Noll. They also had many other excellent players...Donnie Shell, Andy Russell, LC Greenwood....all those guys were multiple pro bowlers.  Obviously, without free agency, they were able to keep the team together throughout the decade. Would never happen in today's NFL landscape.

Also, let's not forget that the Steelers didn't win anything from 1979-2005 (one SB appearance...thanks Neil O'Donnell!) So to sum up their history, it's 39 horrific years, 26 average to good years and 20 great years (those being 1970-1979 and 2001-2010)...not a bad run!

Yes, I agree on this weekends game. Based on their injuries (not just last week but throughout the season), I think the Steelers have maximized this season to the best of their ability. It's hard to see the them winning in Denver....given the Broncos are rested, have a great defense, coupled with the overall health of the Steelers.  Pittsburgh is going to need the unforeseen to happen (turnovers, special teams, etc.) which you can't predict...

Pats, cardinals, Broncos and Seahawks.

Patriots, Cardinals, Panthers, Broncos

Are you sure the deadline should be on NOON EASTERN ON SUNDAY...after the two Saturday games are played?

Come on PACKERS!!!!  you can do it!!

I want chiefs overs patriots
Broncos over steelers
Panthers over Seahawks

KC over NE.
Cards over Pack
Denver over Steelers
Panthers over SEA. Yea!

Chiefs
Cardinals
Panthers
Bronco

Now that I've had a chance to ponder my picks for a few seconds , I'm also picking
Cardinals to win.

I feel the need to wait on Steelers win or lose, until game day roster is announced.
If Big Ben isn't playing it will be the first time I'll bet on the usual play off choking  Broncos.

Is it within the rules to change our bet as long as  before NOON EASTERN ON SATURDAY ?
I don't want to feel worse than I already do, I still feel bad about winning days on a late bet.  :-D

I'll have to go to the politics & religion board and inquire with those in the know,  if God is planning on giving Seattle another miracle.
I believe my favorite team, Seattle,  will need a few miracles to win  against Carolina.
An immaculate recuperation and 100 % healthy, happy  Marshawn,  is  my first miracle request.

I'm picking the Packers because they have nothing to lose, and that will make Rodgers take risks and he could be very dangerous.  Kind of like another QB they had at one time

Patriots
Cardinals
Panthers
Steelers

Patriots, cardinals, panthers , broncos

I'll get them in on time especially since I'm suspect about the Noon Sunday deadline with the first 2 games on Saturday.

Winners are:  KC, Ariz, Carolina & Denver

Patriots to win
 Cardinal to win
 Seahawks to win
No way I can bet on Denver, even if I lose, that would be worse than my loss last week betting on the Redskins.
 Steelers to win.

I reserve the right to change my bets, while following your capitalized rules, after the Saturday games are over, before "NOON EASTERN ON SUNDAY"  :-D
