...first time long time....

My question regards health issues and I am sure this question is on everyone's mind.

I am healthy and have never been with a provider.  However, I'd like to visit my first provider.   What bothers me is the health contingency.  Naturally, I will use protection but my worry is that with all the clients that a provider sees, I cant help that there only needs to be one pr*ck out there who gives the provider some disease that finds its way back to me.

Sometimes I wonder if, no offense to anyone, the whole hobbyist community is a petri dish of STDs.  Other times I say to myself that everyone has the same incentive to stay clean so there is not much to worry about.   Still, the margin for error is so small.

Does anyone have an opinions on staying healthy as a hobbyist?

if it really concerns you that much then you have chosen the wrong hobby. But by the same token, how can you be sure that the next girl friend or SO you have sex with is STD free? Do you ask them for health papers??
If you are still inclined to get into this, then select providers that don't kiss, don't give bbbj and don't rim, for starters. Sounds pretty boring to me but it is you that have the concerns.
My guess, and I may be way off base here, is that most providers do have health checks. A lot also have other lives and I am sure wouldn't think of passing STDs on to their personal lovers or SO.
Good luck which ever way you decide to go. By the way, I would never ask a good reviewed provider if she is STD free!!! To me, that's like asking the pope if he is Catholic....

i would like to think that people in this hobby are more aware of the risk of sex period,i believe that it is the civilians that need to become more aware..

-There are risk anytime you have sex, the only 2 things that can help you Abstinence + Awareness

The fact that providers use protection and get regular check ups goes a long way toward providing the protection you seek.  Think about it for a moment, this is their job that is on the line.  Why would they want to jeopardize it?

Civilian women who date often do not use any protection and also see a lot of different men.

I offer my own experience as one who has hobbied for almost thirty-five years and has seen close to two hundred providers in that time.

I have not had any STD's from any of those encounters.

On the other hand, when I did civie date way back in the 1970's, I contacted two STD's and one case of crab lice amongst the eight or so women I was intimate with at that time.

Do that math and you can see why I stick to the hobby.  It's cheaper and more satisfying too.

I wonder if a provider were to get diagnosed with oral herpes what they would do?

Would they still provide BBBJ so long as they are not flaring up?  Would they still kiss?  Would they stop providing?

According to the stats, herpes is pretty common, so you figure that a lot of providers have to have it no (at least oral if they provide bbbj) (?)

I am just guessing, asking the question maybe someone can answer.

I'm sure it's up to the lady involved what she'd do (I have never had an std, so I have no idea what the ladies with them do.)If it were me, I'd freak out and stop, maybe shut myself in the house (the complete opposite of those std medication commercials on tv.) lol.

As for figuring a lot of providers have something, most don't (at least the ones on TER that we all talk to and are familiar with.) I get tested every month without fail. I am tested for everything that I can at the AIM testing center that supports the adult/porn industry. They have a file on me dating back years and not one single instance of ANYTHING. I don't think that I'm outside of the norm. From what I hear and what is discussed among the ladies, we all get tested regularly. The ladies who don't and the men that see them scare me,honestly. However, I, as well as some of the other ladies, have learned a few tips and tricks that help us to avoid those nasty germs. Not to worry...

more often, and for more STD's than civilian ladies. They have more reasons, so it only makes sense that they take a little better care of themselves.

If you plan to participate, you should also consider regular testing. My doctor knows what I do for recreation, and tests me accordingly. A little extra cost, but worth it for everyone involved.

I'd also like to add a few of the following tips:
-Read the provider's website that you are contemplating a meeting with and search her online reviews.
**Many times it is very easy to distinguish which providers are serious about their health and which ones are just looking to make a quick dime. Most times you will start to notice a gap forming between the ladies who have been establish and blatantly speak openly about the precautions they take and the attention to health risks they address.
-You can also scrutinize a providers concern for health related issues by "reading between the lines" when questions are asked.
**A prime example was discussed recently by a few providers-
-If asked: Can I cum in your a*s w/o a condom and the provider immediately starts discussing "extra charges" ya might want to move on to another provider.
-If asked: what type of protective measures do you take and the provider replies with anything other than I cover for all penetration, then you might keep looking. Please note: washing hands before a session and wiping up afterwards with baby wipes & paper towels DOESN'T constitute protective procedures!!!!

Most established providers are tested regularly for their own piece of mind. (*we have as much -or more- to lose than you do*)
Above all, as a newbie, don't be hesitant about communicating with the provider. Any established provider has encountered gentlemen new to the hobby and we expect them to be anxious. Communication can help eliminate the anxiety and make the encounter more pleasurable for both of you. Just be sure to be respectful when stating your concerns, no woman wants to be made to feel like an individual is suggesting she is a disease infestation just waiting for another victim to infect.

Use the avenues available through TER to find out as much as you can about the provider & her personality and you should be comfortable with who you decide to meet with and hopefully you will have an enjoyable encounter. Good luck in finding what you are seeking   ~T
