Hi everybody!

Here we are, finally, at the sharp end of the season, and as of the time of writing this post we're down to three teams. The Mets have won the National League (yessssssssssss! A sweep too, how do you like that?), and the Blue Jays and the Royals are still going at it for the American League pennant. If you want to make your picks before the ALCS series ends, I will take whatever AL team advances to the World Series as your pick (e.g. if you pick the Royals to win the WS but the Blue Jays win the ALCS, your pick will become the Blue Jays).

Since that series could end up finishing only a couple of days before the World Series begins, I wanted to give everyone plenty of advance notice to get picks in for our competition. Here are the picks required and the prizes on offer:

 1) Pick the winner - 2 days
 2) Pick the number of games - bonus 2, only awarded if you get the winner right also
 3) Pick the MVP - 2 days
 4) Total number of homers hit throughout the entire series for both teams combined - closest gets 2 days, anyone getting the total exactly will receive 4

 The schedule is as follows:

 10/27 - at AL park
 10/28 - at AL park
 10/30 - at New York
 10/31 - at New York
 11/1 - at New York
 11/3 - at AL park
 11/4 - at AL park

Obviously those last three games are only if necessary. You have until NOON EASTERN ON TUESDAY 27TH to make your picks. As has been the case in previous rounds, while there are no prizes for picking the Mets, I personally will of course think much, much more highly of you if you do. I'm am SO excited for the series to start, I can't begin to even tell you. I'm giving away my age in saying this but this will be the first time in my lifetime that I'll be seeing the Mets in the Series, and ladies and gentlemen, I cannot wait.

Good luck everybody, very much including our friends in Toronto and Kansas City, and good luck Mets!

Not sure I have my math right but you say this is the first time you will be able to see the Mets in the series. Either you forget about the subway series against the Yankees in 2000 or you are actually 15 years old??? 86 Mets is more realistic which makes you close to 30.

MEET THE METS,
MEET THE METS,
Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,
bring your wife;
Guaranteed to have the time of your life
because the Mets are really sockin' the ball; knocking those home runs over the wall!
East side,
West side,
everybody's coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!
Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people on the streets,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
Oh, they're hollerin' and cheerin' and they're jumpin' in their seats,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
All the fans are true to the orange and blue,
so hurry up and come on down -
'cause we've got ourselves a ball club,
The Mets of New York town!
Give 'em a yell!
Give 'em a hand!
And let 'em know your rootin' in the stand!
Come on and MEET THE METS,
MEET THE METS,
Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,
bring your wife;
Guaranteed to have the time of your life
because the Mets are really sockin' the ball; knocking those home runs over the wall!
East side,
West side,
everybody's coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!
Of New York town!
