I've a question for the VIP members out there. Background first: I'd like to become a VIP member but don't have the experience to post 2 reviews. That leaves paying for access, but I'm nervous about the traceability inherent in using a credit card. That leaves the option of using a money order, but that's kind of a hassle. So my questions - how much risk do you think there is in paying for VIP membership with a credit card?

Since you are asking about risk I assume you are married. Otherwise, there is nothing illegal about the fantasies and tall tales we tell here. It's just our imaginations of a better world.
The billing line on your CC bill will say "CCBill" and provide CCBill's 800 number. It does not provide any information about what you purchased.
Can someone get that information? I would imagine so. I don't know how difficult, it may be as easy as reading back the reference number to them. I haven't tried, but next time I pay I think I might.
Even if they can't get that info, CCBill takes care of lots of online porn sites. Are you comfortable with that? If so, it's a convenient response to questions regarding what was purchased.
I've heard mixed things on the Visa gift cards. The consensus seems to be that the green dot cards will work for non-recurring charges. Some people are concerned because you need to give your SSN to activate these pre-paid cards. I don't know if that means they will show up on a credit report (which would be a concern).
BTW, if you haven't got the phone situation straightened out, you should worry much more about that than the credit card. Search for "hobby phone."
