This is the first time I have seen anything in the press. In back channel website groups they have lists of providers and hobbyists who have stds.

Here is a quote from the article below:
"The eight women and six men of the jury, 12 of whom will decide the case, have heard one former prostitute describe the herpes that she said she contracted while working for Palfrey."

BBBJ and DATY.  I know the statistics, and risk as presented in numerous health sites.  But what about personal experience from the TER community.  From my observations, I do not think that this community, which is smarter (at least the big head comes into play occasionally) and frequents a higher class of provider (how do you rate a streetwalker???), may have statics that are more meaningful to those of us that are newer to the hobby.  Please share good and bad stories, while I fully expect that disease is incredibly low from these activities.  Thanks

Never caught an STD from a client. As for personal stories...I'm not sharing them on a public forum.

First of all you are not likely to get unbiased sampling on this matter from this board. Respondents especially the ladies will tend to be ones that claim they never gotten an STD. You will get anecdotes and to take a phrase from an article in Time magazine “the plural of anecdotes is not data”. Many will claim they get tested but don’t realize they don’t get tested for all STD like HPV or oral STDs. I also doubt you will get enough responses to prove the percentage of this community that has been infected is as “incredible small” as you assume it to be.  For example at the 95% confidence limits with unbiased sampling at a 10% infection rate you would need 0 positive responses and at least 30 negative response. The number of negative responses needed for 5% and 1% will be 60 and 300 negative responses with no positive responses.

It is a mistake to think this community consists of smarter and higher class of hobbyist and ladies.  The hobbyist and especially the ladies that actively participate on this board are only a tiny fraction of the community and are not necessarily a representative sample of the community that BTW also includes streetwalkers.  If so we have a hobbyist boast on the General Discussion board that he has seen 200 providers and had BBFS with over 40 of them.  He is certainly not very smart and if true certainly not the 40 escorts.

The point is that the statistics you are going to get from the responses to your post is going to be more bias, and will be less meaningful and reliable than what you will get from reputable heath sites like the CDC. You will get ample anecdotal evidence which can not be proven to be true to support your preconceive notion,  “ that disease is incredibly low from these activities” in the TER community.  Perhaps that is what you are really interested in.
