Mark, consider yourself lucky. What happened to you is called "NCNS" in the TER community; it stands for "no call, no show". It happens even outside of CL. My first call to a provider went over like that too, and I started on TER.
Why "lucky"? Knowing how CL can be, you got off easy; it could have been much worse. The provider could have ripped you off, given you horrible service, stolen from your home, or even gotten her boyfriend to rob you. And honestly, when I saw the word "bust" in the subject line, I thought you got busted by LE (law enforcement). I guess you didn't, which is another reason to consider yourself lucky.
Do what everyone's been saying: don't use CL erotic ads (except for laughs), and stick with good old TER. While you may still get stood up from time to time, you'll at least find quality providers. And stick with agencies at first; they're less likely to NCNS on you.
This is what I get for not taking strong advise from TER. I called a girl on CL who was nice, sweet and attentive. Arranged an outcall and she didn't show or call. I called her and text her but without reply. My first thought is that I hope that she did not get into a horrible accident on the way.
Want to know the saddest part? This was my first provider call EVER! Maybe I did something wrong... I didn't question her too much or ask to do anything out of the ordinary -- go figure.

Update -- I think I got REAL lucky, I googled her telephone number in a few different ways and there are two guys that posted to another site who said she took their money, was there 10 min and then said she needed to go to the car to get something.... WHAMMO, GONE! Called herself ****** this time though.

we don't discuss specific ladies on the newbie board. This would be more appropriate on the LA board.

but always cross-check them here on TER. If you find her well reviewed (by multiple people who each have made multiple reviews) it doesn't matter where she advertises. Just make sure everything matches up, including phone and/or email, not just the name.
Sorry the first one went NCNS. But no guarantee that won't happen from even a well-reviewed TER professional. But the odds should significantly drop.
