1) Some poster’s message before the “(eom)” is sometimes so lame or confusing that people assume that there simply must be more to it.

You Have To Click On Them To Respond To Them. Also...

there are a lot of people that respond to an "eom" post and leave the "eom" in the title of their new post, even though there is indeed something inside.

And then there are the idiots...LOL...You gotta love the idiots...

Additional reasons..

1. Clicking on it will indicate that the URL has been visited. It makes it easier to scan for unvisited link the next time I'm on the message board.

2. To check if the poster is an alias or his number of reviews.

3. If I click on 'View All' to read a thread, that will show I clicked on an eom post also.

The same reason people PUSH when the door says PULL!! (eom)

Buuuuuuut, since you clicked on this message, now I will tell ya the REAL reason....

When a thread gets long, I click ALL of the messages so they all show up as links I've already clicked. That way I can spot a new addition to the thread easily. So I even click the messages with (eom) just so that it won't keep showing up as an unread post.

So now ya know. But mostly its cause we PUSH when it says PULL
