Hey Everybody!

I'm going to the Sting and Peter Gabriel concert next week at Denver's Pepsi Center next Tuesday. Their music is fantastic!!
If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, Fields of Gold, Englishman In New York, In Your Eyes, Shock the Monkey, Slegdehammer (funny how Rihanna has a new song out with the same title). The list goes on and on.
Yes I'm so excited to see them in Denver next week. But it made me think about popular music in this day and age. What constitutes good music for you?
Artists like Sting have stood the test of time with their ballads and skillfully crafted songs. If I were born in the 60's/70's I could have stopped listening to music by the mid 90's and be a-ok with it. Because some of the best music was made back then and is apparently still appreciated now.
So what's your favorite Sting and Peter Gabriel song? What makes a good song? And why is the music so crappy now? Lol
Have a great weekend you sexy people!

Don't know if you remember me, but really sorry I didn't know you would be in town. I hope you you have a great time. I have seen Sting at Red Rocks twice - truly magical nights. Here is a great video.

Could not agree more on the state of music.  Actually there are some incredibly talented artists that could and should do their own thing but continue to put out junk that for some reason sells. One of my great disappointments is Fergie. She is amazing, but (I'm an old guy) the Black Eyed Peas do nothing for me.

In the last couple of months I have seen 74 year old Paul Simon rock out for 2 1/2 hours and 70 year old JD Souther perform his rock compositions and some old time classics. Both amazing.

And then there are Mick and Keith - still alive and kicking ass.

All the best.

PS:  Guys - this is one of the truly great ladies!!!!!!!

For shame to be without 90s music!
