I always got a hotel near the airport and I would go down from Seattle for the weekend and make bank! I love Portland...and tax free shopping. The guys are always friendly and real chill out there.
I'll be road-tripping along the west coast in July and stopping in Portland.
Never been there before -- would love your advice on where'd be the most convenient spot[s] to host.

Most gals I've seen either get hotels near the airport/205 corridor on the east side, or near the convention center/Lloyd Center. East side tends to be cheaper, hotel-wise. There are some more local mom-and-pop type places that don't ask too many questions over there. Convention center area has more of the major chains there. PM me if you want some specific locales.
east side near the convention center but not a hi rise...the elevator key requirement is difficult. pm me for more details.
